Seriously considering it.

Still no power here with a freezer full of food. Mobile data and water just returned a few hours ago.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

I'm assuming the oil heating ain't working  if electric is off

We were lucky  not to suffer any electricity loss , but we have the open fire  here for heating at least . Most modern houses don't

Friend of mine was on the hunt for one yesterday. Not a screwfix in the country had one. He ended up going to some place that had a queue of lads out the gate.

Yes Oil heating gone. We have a open fire, cooked a fine lump of steak on it last night. Using it to boil water for tea/coffee also.

Generators, woodchippers and chainsaws have all doubled in value over the laat few days!

Is there no way of deflating it? Or some way of making that more secure. Obviously that was an extreme storm but not to say it won't happen again next year when they have it up and running. Awful shame after all their hard work to get that facility.

Is meant to have been deflated in extreme weather is what I've heard.

It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera

Wildweasel74

Well insurance be double checking that,  to see if it was the case.

Armagh18

Surely a blind man could have seen it coming in a red warning? I despise insurance companies but I wouldn't blame them for never insuring it again after that.

I know climate change is blamed for contributing to floods, droughts and forest fires etc. but is climate change to blame for storms like the one on Friday?

John Prenty has said it needed a week in advance to deflate it, something about lights hanging off the ceiling the reason given.

That needs to change. There was fully 3 days warning of this storm and that should be enough. They need a system that can be dismantled in 24 hours. Led lights can be multiple small lights integrated into the dome.

I know that there has been a lot of slagging about this project, but it is the way forward. However, lessons have to be learned.
