Quote from: Rossfan on July 21, 2024, 08:51:46 PMI know it's hurley stuff where rules are optional extras....but aren't keepers meant to  take the puck out from inside the small square?
And line balls from the line not 2 feet inside it?

Hurley stuff turns a blind eye to a lot of stuff in order to keep the game flowing. That's why when a free is awarded, there is punching of the air and chest beating - because it's a big deal to get a free.

Jell 0 Biafra

I thought it was because frees are essentially guaranteed points now that everyone can score from their own half.

A ball and stick game mainly played south of a line between Dublin and Galway by people who are useless at football
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

He knows it was unreal, he just can't take the fact hurling is head and shoulders above football in terms of skill and a spectacle to watch.
I like a good football match, not anti football at all,but it's nowhere near hurling, yesterday was absolutely superb and for someone to try and bring it down like this amadán from Roscommon just shows how bitter and insecure he is.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed

Here's a stat for you.

The last time a County Team made an All Hurling Final that didn't border Tipperary was Wexford in 1996.

The 'hurley' lads tend not to get too bothered about these sort of silly details

There's so much going on that things like this are insignificant

The balloon chasers on the other hand have to feed on this type of stuff as there's feck all else occurring worth talking about

Hurling is a brilliant sport but what is off putting is why hurling people have to bash football at every opportunity.

Hurling is brilliant for the casual viewer as its fast paced and all action; hence why it got such a good reaction from the BBC Viewers.

Football as a spectacle is behind hurling we all now that but in my opinion nothing can beat the tension that was created in the Armagh Kerry game; and that is one downfall hurling has; there is rarely tension created as its so easy to score.
