Quote from: manwithnoplan on July 23, 2024, 08:27:18 AMInteresting to see Armagh fans giving eachother abuse due to some folks being members of smaller clubs and therefore finding it easier to get tickets. Hard to beat some old fashioned big club arrogance.
I have some empathy to the bigger clubs to be honest. If you are in a big club and your chance of a ticket is 1 in 5 Vs smaller clubs where you can fill your boots it's not really consistent.

To describe the clubs with smaller numbers as "useless clubs" was a very arrogant statement from that poster, which is what I was getting at. Maybe that poster would prefer there to be 7 or 8 clubs in Armagh with huge numbers, and get rid of all the smaller clubs completely.

Anyway, all clubs pay the same fees to the county board so all is fair regarding ticket allocations.

I regret that, I'll delete it.
I should have said small club.

The problem is with Croke Park. 30 or 35 k tickets to Armagh and Galway each and fucj the rest

The All Ireland finals (particularly the hurling) are becoming  a "must be seen at" for celebrities.

I don't remember  seeing Conor Gallagher or Jimmy Nesbitt at the  national league or Walsh cup. Fans from the participating counties can't get tickets  but they can?

Next thing we'll have Scoopy Scoopy Dogg Dogg  playing at half time

Hear the sub committee was loaded with junior club reps, hence the outcome. There will be rows down the line when the County Board come looking assistance from clubs and they're asking Senior/bigger clubs to take a proportionally larger share of the burden.

More tickets for Armagh clubs apparently.

I think this allocation is based on club size or membership. So most of this tranche will go to big senior clubs, alleviating some issues.

Good stuff.

Not sure if it's still the case, but i know a few years ago with the draw tickets that clubs are selling for fundraising They are £100 to buy and once a certain amount are sold then £80 of every £100 goes to the club. Senior clubs had to sell more than intermediate and junior had to sell the least before the £80 to the club kicked in

Quote from: snoopdog on July 21, 2024, 07:27:06 AMI was wondering how mckeevers were managing the demand for jerseys. What shops sell them?
Those looking for Armagh jerseys in ONeills aren't too clued in.

Many of those who buy jerseys are not those who wear them, granny decides to buy the 3 grandchildren a jersey and just goes to where she went last time and where she bought a jersey for the other grandchildren who live in a different county.

Quote from: general_lee on July 22, 2024, 09:08:46 AMThe scramble is well and truly on.
The Lurgan clubs all seem to be have been given half their allocation for the Hill, is this true of all the Armagh clubs? I see the grumblings have started on Facebook already about not getting tickets, mostly from people who apparently go to all the matches but didn't bother with a season ticket...
my club received a 50/50 split between hills and seats
so seems to be the norm

Always wondered about this. 80% or so of the tickets in the ground are seated yet clubs always seem to be sitting with a ball of hill tickets.

I imagine that all the hill tickets go to the competing counties.
