They were the better side for long periods of the game. As a villa fan I was hoping that Watkins would not be introduced as the game was made for him. He's a machine at pressing the defence and his runs in behind will always cause problems. He'll be on the bench again for the final.

Yes, but the standard of other teams has levelled off too. Also, Southgate's teams are primarily set up not to concede goals. They play low risk.

I never fancied the  Dutch here. Always knew those  backstards would win it

Depay, while limited, was  one of the few Dutch players  who could maybe nick a goal. Injured.

Their name  is on the trophy.  Once that equaliser went in against Slovakia , I just  had a really bad feeling they'd  do it.

Now Morata could be  injured for final after being  taken out by a steward. You couldn't  make it up . The luck is hanging out  of them.
