Gaelforce obviously has plenty of disposable income. No one else's view matters. The Grab All Association is out to fleece you. Even the programme was a rip off. A 5er for something thst doesn't have the actual starting 15.

ardtole

I can't remember the last time I bought a programme. There was a time you wouldn't have gone without one.

Fairly ridiculous 😂. A round robin group game he says, both games on Saturday were knockout games, losers seasons over.

Your are 100% right Godsown. People moan about prices of tickets even though most of it goes back to the grassroots anyway which is why we have the organisation we do. The 'grab all association' as the groaners keep calling it do a serious job and aiding the finances and development of our games, clubs, facilities, coaching staff etc. We will agree to disagree anyway, I believe as a father with 3 young boys it was well worth the entry and the experience of meeting Laverty, Glass, Oisin, all the Down lads that hung around and the Derry lads who gave alot of their time after. Game quality wasnt great but those young lads dont care about that, great to see neutral games in Newry. Roll on Croker, does anyone know if you stay in the bar at Croke Park hotel for the first game and go in for the second game can I get partial refund for my ticket? Asking for another poster

I'd have no interest in double headers myself. Not bothered about the ticket price, but back-to-back games of football  is a modern day form of flagellation.

Some people don't seem to realise there is a cost of living crisis at the moment. Mostly 12 yr olds. But paying £22/25 euro in to basic grounds with basic facilities and to also charge the same amount  to stand on the terrace as seating in a covered stand, reeks of indifference from the organisation. Give people an option to pay less.  I have no problem paying the money  into Croke pk with proper facilities.

Gaelforce123

What Facilities do you mean Snoop?

Some of the toilets, for lads anyway, are brutal. Not sure what they're like for the cailíní though but I'd hazard a guess that they're worse.

As an aside, I think the GAA have a 5 euro discount for games.  If you're a GAA member, go onto the Foireann system and claim it there.

It's not gard to workout differences between all county grounds and Croke pk, bar PUC.

Gaelforce123

The facilities available arent much different, the quality of facilities maybe. Food available (probably nicer at country kitchen in Pairc Esler than Croke Park food), toilets... yes not as clean and up to date as Croke Park, a bar... Newry doesnt have or at least im not sure if you can slip into shamrocks bar at Half time or between games. Im confused a bit, its maybe not really about the price etc of taking kids to a double header in Newry,  its about not being able to spend more money at the higher quality more expensive facilities in Dublin. Either way just agree to disagree, I think £25 is fine for a Taitleann and All Ireland Group final game knockout. You dont agree, all opinions

Which facilities that are available in Croke Park, and not available in Pairc Esler, would you like to see and would justify the price being charged?

the price you might think is fine, I'd say most don't agree and attendances have fallen through the floor as a result. £25 entry with no concession for someone who'd rather stand on the terrace, does that make sense?
The condensed season sees a lot of games squeezed into a shorter window and a lot of people are picking and choosing their matches now. Finances for a lot of families doesn't stretch to paying 60 or 70 quid every week or every other week to watch football.

Gaelforce123

Probably should be a small concession for terrace id agree on that part, no my argument though, £25 to watch 4 intercounty teams 2.5 hours of football is for me good value. If it was too much for people the game was also shown on TV. There are many more games on tv now compared to when the season was not as condensed but again thats another grumble people have, put the finals back to September and dont have such a condensed season then the same people grumble about watching county club championships in November in the muck and gutters... the GAA fixture makers have no chance

terrifictommy

Attendance at games has been on the decline for some time, I'm not sure that's reflective of the ticket prices though. Just look at our county championship, a decade ago you would have went to double headers of minor and senior finals without a question with packed venues. Overall the saturation of games and meaningless matches has weakened the game. The atmosphere for county games isn't the same, until we get to this knock out phase we are in - But it takes too long to get here.
