There wasn't much common sense in attendance.
57% voted to move fixtures, so basically all the hurling counties.

Very disappointing that so many of them would vote to disrespect the 4 Tailteann Counties.

If this proposal was fliated a month ago .....but a week before the fixtures.
Disgraceful and it seems Saint Jarlath was pushing it.

He needs to be kept away from microphones for a while.
Berating Counties who have groups in their Championships but not a whisper about the Mubster SHC.

Hmmmm.....€6m reasons for that of course.
What was the proposal?

Quote from: NorthAntrim on June 17, 2024, 11:41:05 AMAntrim were shocking first half and fermanagh shocking the second. Antrims handling errors let them down badly and i think Fermanagh thought the game was dead and couldnt get going again when needed. Bad losers too, full time whistle shake hands and move on.

Brewster park BTW. Major facelift needed as a county ground. Starting with the toilets!

Always thought Brewster was a nice ground.

Has it gotten run down in recent years?

It has potential. New stand with up to date facilities and its dead on. Raining pre match, You needed an umbrella with you in the toilets

Yes, especially as on May 26th, Wexford knew for 99% certain (I.e. beat Laois in play-off) that there was a clash with Feile.

Looks like only the lower section of the Hogan stand will be opened.

I've said it before and I'll say it forever.

When youngsters grow up dreaming about playing in Croke Park, that dream will ALWAYS be based a full house.

The notion peddled around the GAA that playing in Croke in itself is a reward for all the hours put in, is pure and utter romantic drivel.

These games have no business being in Croke. It's a charade.

Do they? Been lucky to be with club in Croke park for club finals with no numbers... best days of my club memories

Romantic drivel? Croke is full house mainly twice a year. So every game bar the finals should be played elsewhere?

I honestly doubt the memories of those days would have been any different had those finals been played in a full house at say Armagh.

Croke Park isn't the occasion. The game is the occasion.

Hogan Cups won in Croke, I guarantee, resonate no more with the winners, than those won on county grounds.

If demand for a game needs a stadium of +40k then Croke should be an option.

If not, then go somewhere else.

So half stadium rather than full house now?

Again can only speak for my own views on getting to Croke, I'd rather there than Clones

Agree, even the words "playing in croke Park" is huge no matter if it was empty. Wish I had had the opportunity.
