It was a nervous enough atmosphere in the stand, but as stated above the wind was a big factor. 2nd half was a lot better from armagh. Andrew Murnin when sent to midfield showed real leadership with some great fetching, and chipped in on the scoresheet too. Oisin Connaty looked lively, and the subs made an impact again. So while we didn't set the world alight, was good to get over the hangover of the ulster final. Best wishes to Conor o'neill, just back from a lay-off, hopefully not too serious
Also worth noting Blaine Hughes was great. His kickouts were really accurate- has a lovely way of pinging the ball to his man. Onwards and upwards!

Listened to the free state podcast today about Jimmy mcguinness. The jist of it (my take anyway) was that mcguinness was the benchmark, and that other managers (including mcgeeney if I heard correctly) was to be pitied. As an armagh man, to quote a famous gaa phrase, I hope the armagh team take the attitude 'there's only one f*****g answer for that'

Quote from: Armagh18 on April 28, 2024, 11:24:37 AMWe were pathetic. Play like that against Donegal and it be 10 point hammering. I'd say Duffy will be in from the start the next day. Murnin, Soupy Turbo and others anonymous.

Cant agree with this. When the game came into the melting pot it was Murnin who made himself available to get out in front to win the ball to set up the winning score. Best player in armagh squad to do that. Never stops working. Just because he's not flashy doesn't mean he was anonymous. Armagh can take a lot away from yesterday. No need for panic

Poor enough from armagh. Plenty of football to be played yet this year, so no point peaking too early.

Murnin had a great game- he has been armaghs best player this year.

Seen James Morgan with the tracksuit on giving medals ti the kids after the half time games. Would be good to see him togged out again- anyone know if that is far away?

Armagh stayed the night in Jacksons- right in the middle in Ballybofey.

Would it not have been wiser to stay somewhere a few miles outside the town- less interactions with supporters staying for the match hyping them up and asking for photos etc?

Was in the lobby before the match and it was strange to see i thought

The row started at the end with McFadden-Ferry of Donegal going up into Aidan Nugents face and shouting. A pushing match started, with most players involved. Not a pile in it i thought. Donegal were goading armagh the whole match, with a lot of cynical fouling also. Nrs 4 and 7 for Donegal the worst culprits. They are a hard team to watch

Why is Donegal Armagh not available in Ireland with gaago if it's not on live?

It is on Live on Sky and you can get a Sports day pass for NowTV, no need for jiggery pokery.
Indeed NowTV were selling a two month deal for Sky Sports for €30, which would see out the GAA season and perhaps allow some other soccer be watched as well.
I wasn't in favour of Sky but as long as you can buy a day pass it is accessible.
now tv- can you cast from it? its cat u have to pay to watch gaa on tv imo

Corbyn has always been anti-eu. He's a man of principle, he won't lead any charge against a reversal of the referendum just because it may be politically advantageous to him

Not individual, but Armagh's full-forward line in 2002.

The three - Marsden, Clarke and McDonnell - all scored 0-3 from play.
Ronan clarkes was exceptional in that he was only 19, in his first year of senior football and marking seamus moynahan!

An early goal in any game is a huge psychological boost to one team and a huge psychological blow to the other.Doesnt matter what code. This is particularly true in a game like yesterday, overhyped since the draw was made.

Of course Donegal are further advanced and experienced than Armagh, but they are not as far advanced as the score line and respective performances seemed to suggest yesterday.

Cloud. Cuckoo. Land.

I actually think he has a point

Look at last years ai where donegal never recovered from the shock of conceding an early goal

Or 2011 when  they won it where mayo never recovered from the early 2 goals
