Great result for us last nite up in Aughabrack although we made hard work of it. The Clans are a very average team without the 2 county men.
A big talking point after the game was the assault of one of our umpires by 1 of the county men and I'm sure u can all work out which 1 it was. Will probably be ignored but the county chairman was on the pitch side and witnessed the event.

You are saying that either Dooher or O'Neill hit one of your umpires? I cant imagine any of them dong that1
The game was level and our umpire signalled a wide as a clan Na Gael player carried the ball along the end line. According to our players the ball was a foot out.
There was a crowd of clan supporters inside the gate to the side of the goals(at the clubhouse end).
The player in question ran bout 30m to argue over the decision and then assaulted the umpire. This is fact as I seen it happen!
Neither county player was playing.
hearsay and imagination often takes over during incidents like this
we all will cheer our county players when they lift the sam    they will all be invited to our clubs and set upon a pedistal     name dropping  i dont think so      strabanebouy not the thing for a gael to talk about ye got your points by hook or crook      what happens on the field "stays on the field"    no running to reporters or name dropping as has previously happened

so whats the outcome? is the national anthem being debased? I'm as wise as ever except that now i suspect that we nordies have more in common with our immediate adversaries the unionists than with our so called brothers in the 26 counties apart from our love of Gaelic games that is. there is very definite resentment between north and south and its nothing to do with the outcome of football/hurling matches so what is it??
apart from our love of Gaelic games?
Only a Nordie would think that anything apart from a shared love of Gaelic games, matters that much in the scheme of things ::)

"Those who play its games, those who organise its activities and
those who control its destinies see in the G.A.A. a means of
consolidating our Irish identity. The games to them are more than
games - they have a national significance ...."
now we are NORDIES     ......The shinners call us six county residents ..... The unionists call us Northern Irish....... the Brits call us British.........  and YOU call us NORDIES!!!
it's NO WONDER WE HAVE AN IDENTITY CRISISES   HERE IN GOOD OLD  ULSTER

Yis are all a crowd of spas, play it early and play it often. Wtf would you be saving it for? So people never hear it and dont f**king recognise it when they do?

And who gives a f**k what county respects it more, means very little when in the next roar 'yis northern/southern b**tards' is the call...

Spas?... you mean like 'spastic?.... disabled...  :o

..."The medical term "spastic" became used to describe cerebral palsy. The Spastics Society (now called Scope) is a UK charity for people with cerebral palsy, which was founded in 1951...."

Have been off board for some time but started lurking again lately.

Thread caught the eye.

In short to the question posed - YES we are bebasing the anthem, but not for any significant, to my mind, reasons. Dopes involved in acting the maggot shouldn't be worried about.

There are many/most of us who treat the Soldiers' Song properly. There are a share of others who don't. Players may have other things on their mind but spectators shouldn't. Its usually those empty vessels who make most noise.

I'd appeal to all true gaels to just do whats right and sing your hearts out. F the begrudgers.

Agus Ciarraí abú!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

song and dance about nothing ,,,
players at times dont even hear the national anthem  they have more on their minds at the time
some dont have any thought on the meaning to the anthem or indeed the words
some are still locked into the politics of our land  (or maybe the politics of our parents and have not moved
it tend to mean more to people from the north or maybe thats thier perception
any way   a bit of decoram should always be observed
remember     leave them alone and they ll come home wagging tier tails behind them

every year at committe meetings we hear the club officials condemming verbal abuse of refs and players    but the usual suspects forget about their preachings and are usually the main culprits
they are above the ordinary supporter who gets lynched if he steps out of line
I seen a county rather ex tyrone official getting thumped at a local derby for shouting  he thought he was at his own club and had the standard immunity but  " god look to his witt"
he got clashed for his abuse and arrogance..... he then had the ordassity to report the club and tryed to have their pitch closed
but his rantings fell on deaf ears for once and the county board didnt oblige

hello im back
does this mean a game can be reviewedon video if a ref makes a mistake and costs some county a win that could take them to croke park
where is the equality in this video system     does it comply with both governments equality statements?

It's the older generation who have that perception. I wasn't about but it was said that Rangers/Linfield/Chelsea had some kind of sectarian allegience in the 70s/80

the story goes from my father        one of the main chants years ago at stamford bridge was a song      Im forever blowing bubbles......repuditaly this is the song the black and tans sung at the hanging of roddy macorley  at toombridge  the two incidents were always inexplicably linked here in the six counties by an older generation       but things have moved on  thank god

McCullagh, while certainly i very skillfull footballer, would be classed as slightly lacking in the balls department about our part of the world. He has a great temperament, as shown by his peno in last years county final, but can he really win his own ball in dangerous positions?? His action against Paul Hughes in 2004 county final will live with me longer than his performances for Tyrone in 2008 I tell you.
very unfair comment    have you ever played yourself??
there is no one out there who kicked a ball and hasnt thought   after a game   i should nt have done that or committed that foul     hignsight is the is the human why of improving our deeds and way of life

You don't get to county standard lacking balls. He looks after himself would be more apt.

Balls indeed...

A sonnet for the b'ard O'Neill

THE BALL POEM by John Berryman

What is the boy now, who has lost his ball,
What, what is he to do? I saw it go
Merrily bouncing, down the street, and then
Merrily over—there it is in the water!
No use to say 'O there are other balls':
An ultimate shaking grief fixes the boy
As he stands rigid, trembling, staring down
All his young days into the harbour where
His ball went. I would not intrude on him,
A dime, another ball, is worthless. Now
He senses first responsibility
In a world of possessions. People will take balls,
Balls will be lost always, little boy,
And no one buys a ball back. Money is external.
He is learning, well behind his desperate eyes,
The epistemology of loss, how to stand up
Knowing what every man must one day know
And most know many days, how to stand up
And gradually light returns to the street
A whistle blows, the ball is out of sight,
Soon part of me will explore the deep and dark
Floor of the harbour . . I am everywhere,
I suffer and move, my mind and my heart move
With all that move me, under the water
Or whistling, I am not a little boy.

Why am I not excited about this?
why i suppose many people in the six counties feel like this at present and maybe duely correct     we must applaud the shinners for their expertise and belief to stay with the deal
our country will change dramatically because of this deal      the war will really be over

McCullagh was under rated by many, certainly by the "national" media. Never let Tyrone down when he was called upon. At a time where size is seen by many as more important than skill he showed what he was capable of.
IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A DERRY MAN WOULD SPOT THE TALENT
mc cullagh is one of the most underrated players in the tyrone panel
does his job and melts back into the tyrone machine
