County Board Vice-Chairman Paddy McNicholas said that, due to the FBD Final in New York between Sligo IT and New York, the final round of county league games were now back to the weekend of October 21.

Anyone any opinion on this quote? How many Mayo players are involved with Sligo IT. This is not good enough reason to push back the last round of the league

From South Mayo I think you have to look at Ronan McNamara (Davitts), Enda Varley (Garrymore) and Mark Ronaldson (Shrule). In my opinion McNamara is the best midfielder in the county and is also a good free taker from distance. Varley and Ronaldson are very similar players, but one of them ishould be good enough.

Any idea when the draw for the quarter finals of the c\ship is on

Draw is Next Monday night. QF games are to be played last weekend in August

Anyone know for sure if the quarter final draw is seeded. I think it is a open draw but most people tell me I am wrong and that group winners can only draw runners up.

I have seen Paddy Navin's name meantioned for the full back slot a number of times, what are the pro's and con's regarding him?

More and more teams are going with the option of a target man full forward.  From what I have seen of Paddy Navin his weakness seems to be under a high ball. I think he is a good player when attacking a quick low ball in to the full forward and has speed for that.

Anyone spot any of the Mayo management (besides their own clubs) at any of the games over the weekend?

I jus heard John O'Mahony was at the Davitts V Mayo Gaels game in Balla on Saturday evening. I assume it was Michael Conroy he was having a look at?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Ronan McNamara he was looking at.
