The smoking ban will be brilliant, I never smoked in my life and I never go out to bars anymore because I end up hacking half the night and cant sleep so i dont bother my arse. I will be on the first plane home though when it is implemented. ;D

GAA Discussion / Re: Will he stay or will he go?

I hope he stays as long as he is healthy enough to contribute to the cause but given his chronic back problems over the years I think this might be it for him at the Inter county level. Oisin has been one of the most important players in our history and if he decided to quit and concentrate on putting in a few years with cross I would say fair play to him, he owes us nothing and we owe him a great deal.

Just like you would be brave enough to tell Gerard Houlihan that you enjoyed seeing him getting his head stamped on during a game many moons ago!

Hypocrite.

stew, your ludicrous posts would suggest that Mr Houlahan was not the only man to get his head stamped on during a game.  Who were you playing for at the time....Longstone F.C.?

I wish you would also show the ex-Armagh All-Star some respect by spelling his name correctly.  It is the least the man deserves after years of great service to the Orchard County.

Redhandfan, my post does not suggest that Mr Houlihan was the only man ever to get his head stamped on, I merely highlighted the fact that you gloated about it on the old board and I thought that was disgusting and cowardly of you.

I was playing for Longstone at the time though.

As for Houlie's name, yep I got the spelling wrong, you got me.

Did you ever kick a ball in your life or are you happy being an administrative pencil pusher?????

Devlin's bar is well run and they dont let the messers in and they have a reasonable pint of black but the harps club is great craic at times and there are more lunatics per square inch in there on match days than anwhere else in the county and that takes some doing.

It is great to go home after a year or two away and quaff porter  in the club and take a gander at the locals, there is nothing like coming home and realising that you are as big a lunatic as they are and it does your heart good to know that you belong there. :'(

Mickey Harte will be proved right in relation to the "University Four".  Tis better that they played one McKenna Cup game for the Master Harte than three McKenna Cup games for miserable Mickey Moran and bitter Paddy Tally.

The Tyrone manager did what he had to do for the good of the County squad.  Fair play to him.

By the way, I am touched by the concern shown towards the "University Four" by Armagh poster Goats Do Shave.  I wonder will he be brave enough to repeat his comments the next time he visits Drumlee!

Now now maddog, do not under any circumstances challenge the all knowing all seeing slim shady, this hard man of Antrim has threatened to beat the crap out of many's a man on this board but when people found out who he was they laughed and he fecked for about a year.

The only annoying thing about slimmy is the fact the he thinks people have forgotten his cowardly, self imposed exile, well slimmy baby, we have not and we will not. :-*

Up Armagh. ;D

Crossmaglen cannot seem to do much wrong at any level of competition and they look set to dominate for another decade, Dromintee seem to have shot their bolt and the Harps will close the gap in the next couple of years but I dunno if they are going to be good enough to beat Cross when it matters in the championship.

The only bright spot about their domination is that the county is full of their players and we are always among the top few teams in the country but still, their domination of Armagh football is way beyond old.

Marsden is the best player for Armagh by a Country mile with flappy sitting in second, dont confuse the best player with the most influencial player because for me that would have to be Geezer with McConville a close second.

Geezer is nowhere near as talented football wise and marsden or flappy but he drove us to sam in 02 and his legacy will say that he was one of the most important players of the current era no matter what county team you play for.

I have been a chelsea supporter all my life and hate united, i will say this though, if we don't get terry back soon we are going to implode and the league could be out of our grasp by the end of january. Terry is the glue that holds the team together and we are struggling against mediocre teams just because they have pace up front.

Thanks square ball. One of these years I am going to come home to play in the harps outing but I really want to play the point to see how much I have improved, the last time I played it I shot an 87 but I think I can do a bit better, it is a lovely course.

Armagh Golf Course is really getting worse, every time I go home I play there and it is in worse shape.

I play a lot of golf and have a handicap of about 8, the problem is that from October to the end of March you cant play around here because it is so feckin cold so I take the odd long weekend and head off to warmer climes to get to play a bit, now this really messes with your game and handicap because I would play off about twelve or thirteen in the winter months and I get back down to 7 or eight just as the season is coming to an end and that blows.

The great thing is that I can join a good club over here for $500.00 and play all summer long, I used to play warrenpoint back in the day and it cost me about 22 quid for 18 holes and I shudder to think what it costs now.
