It's nice to see the GAA's efforts to reach out across the cultural divide beginning to  bear fruit, as evidenced by the growing use of Ulster Scots on this site.

More like abstract Haiku :)

GAA Discussion / Re: Paddy Heaney of the irish news!

He's still the best Journo at the Irish News by a long shot and one of my overall favourite GAA commentators.

Not often i would take a county board's side over a manager's, but Crozier made a dick of himself this year.

The BBC reporting of the Hanratty incident was beyond a joke, f**king disgraceful, if it was a newspaper that carried the story in such a vindictive way I'd never buy it again.

Benny - who are the 4 guys in Oz who would have been eligible?

Will Coulter be an U-21 footballer this year, or will the hurling be his first priority?
Bambi jr, Kyle McGuigan, Johhny Killen and Sean Morrison.  Coulter played CHF yesterday, good game as well, don't know if he's in the reckoning for County U21 football.

Congrats to Cross, must admit I didn't fancy them at all.   Does that put Cross top of the Ulster Roll of Honour?  Does anyone have a link or could maybe post the Roll.

Rufus dont know how you can mention who played well and leave out Vernon :o MOTM by a longshot, some other fine performances, young McCoy looks a great prospect.

It's a pity we've lost 4 lads to Oz and Peadar not playing is going to make it very hard to retain our title.

Armagh / County Board
December 04, 2006, 09:52:03 AM
Having been at our AGM last week, I can safely say the County Board dont give a flying one about Club football, it's the BIg Joe show and it will be the ruination of the club game in armagh, some might think it's worth it for county success, I don't.

The Northern Ireland Office (NIO) will be relieved to learn that while the GAA is committed to as comprehensive as possible an analysis of grassroots opinion, it will not allow those views to ultimately jeopardise the scheme.

Bit rich coming from the NIO who have shown their contempt for public opinion in NI with issues like the Water bills and the new Rates.
The question of water bills comes from an EU directive, its not (directly) the fault of the NIO.
Not what I was getting at; the NIO were recently hauled through the courts because they didn't consult the public correctly regarding Water, they had to consult the public for 13 weeks, but they arbitrarily reduced the consultation period to 10 weeks to avoid more shit from the public.

Think I'll have a wager on Clontibret at 4/1, Cross are minus Bellew and Aaron Kernan, having seen them a few times this year I just think they're not a patch on the AI wining teams and quite ordinary, if they can stop Oisin they're half way there, having said that they could possibly still have to much experience for a young clontibret team; wouldn't put tuppence on Cross beaten Ballinderry or Errigal.

Have to be McGrane for me, dont want to go revisionist on McGeeney, but MCGrane has always been 'the man' imo.
