Those dense monocultural conifer forests that Ireland has been planting could come back to haunt the place. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ireland being vulnerable to wildfires in the coming years when these temperatures keep going up.

Seeing as the place hasn't dried out all year, there's. very little chance of that!

Yeah Andrews is an absolute dose, and I certainly won't be paying to listen to him.
I pay for SmallerFish during Championship, although the contributors tend to just agree with whatever Wooly says - he's generally insightful but tends to be like a dog with a bone at times.

Started listening to "Detectived don't Sleep" on Spotify - think it just came up as a suggestion but enjoying it so far.
It's a reviewing old (mainly American) murders from years ago and how they were solved - most have a twist in them so can keep the attention.

Anyone ever been to Cambrils Resort in Spain?  Hearing good things about it.
Yes been loads. Its brilliant. Kids love it. Loads of pools. Few slides. Food bar etc all decent. Entertainment same every year though so I try to avoid it. But yeah. Great spot.

It's about 90% Irish at it, so be prepared for that 😀
But it's great - very relaxed and safe, kids love it and accommodation is good.

Quick question lads. Not q stag do. Just a group of lads looking for a good spot for the weekend.  What's athlone or mullingar like. We've done all the obvious places before.
Athlone punches massively above its weight for bars and restaurants and is fairly compact. Dead Centre Brewery is nice down by the river and a pint of Dead Pixel is hard to beat when the sun is out. Does decent pizzas and small bites too. Sean's is compulsory. If you like Thai food Kin Khao is good, would also recommend The Fatted Calf. Leftbank Bistro is lovely and beside  Sean's and The Snug which is worth a visit too.

Try Flannerys in Athlone as well, great pub. Kinda traditional, yet off the wall. Good music, unconventional barlady and her dogs! They even made a film about the place...

Ended up cancelling my trip to Sicily and am now going to San Sebastián on Sunday. Any one been, any tips/recommendations?

Eat. A lot.

I'm heading at end of the month. Flying to Biarritz and gonna stay with family at least some of the time in Donostia/San Sebastian.....by the way my uncle told me calling it San Sebastian is like calling Derry Londonderry

I'll stay in Donostia at least a few days but might do a few nights in Bilbao and then the same in Biarritz to finish....anyone been or think that's a good idea or should I stay in Donostia the whole time? Going with my wife just

One is the Basque, the other is Spanish. Language and politics don't necessarily go hand in hand the same way they do here. You'll not overly upset anyone if you use either.

There's a board member I'll ping whose wife is from San Sebastian and spends a lot of time up there. I'm sure he can give you all plenty of tips.

Get in early if you want to try Nestor's tortilla is all I know!

Nestors is fantastic - they'll bring out a few cuts of meat for you to select from, you choose one then relax with a few glasses of wine and plates of tomatoes and fried peppers (much nicer than it sounds), then the meat arrives.
Enormous, cooked to perfection and sprinkled with big crystals of salt - it's absolute heaven.

I believe Toyota have stopped investing in electric car research and are instead switching to hydrogen.
Toyota were/are the leaders in hybrid so I'd say they are onto something they believe to be commercially viable.
I wouldn't touch electric with a barge pole.

Did you read the post 3 above your own?

Genuinely never seen worse behaviour from a set of fans in all my years. On our way out of the ground yesterday ever other set of Armagh 'fans' felt the need to hurl abuse at us. I could take it if it was an isolated incident but unfortunately it wasn't. Grown men who weren't even intoxicated felt the need to remind us of the scoreline, everybody hated Tyrone etc etc.

It is embarrassing but it's hardly the worst behaviour from fans you've ever seen. Let's be honest about it

Now I know I can't tar all Armagh fans with the same brush but it was honestly the worst behaviour I seen in all my days. The amount of intoxicated men and women before the game even started was scary. Armagh fans with Kerry headbands, wagging their flags and fist pumping at every Kerry score was embarrassing.

Surprised to hear about Armagh supporters behaving like that. I have very limited experience, but was up in Armagh for the Mayo league game earlier this year and I had a great day - they were the soundest supporters I came across in years.
I suppose the boozed up loudmouths wouldn't be found at a league game though...

They's always one dickhead floating around with a comment after a poor day @ office.  We'll move on and learn from this this,  unfortunately clowns like you and and your team never do.

Have you any more clichés in the locker?

Jesus Paddy Andrews is some f**king dose!
Always tries to bring it back to the Dublin team (that he was a sub on).

7 sub all Ireland medals too, probably handed them back

Hardly. Doesn't prevent him being a dose though!

Very difficult to know where Dublin are at so just so difficult to predict and can Mayo put back to back performances together.

Those kick out stats will have alarmed McStay especially considering so many were contested but on the flip side they managed to win despite only winning 12 out of 37 kick-outs.
very valid point, we have been badly beaten in the middle third for three straight games.
Cannot see how that can be resolved in a week. Who knows.

Yes, would be a major concern at this stage. Can't win ball in midfield when we go long, and Reape is getting jittery when opposition puts on a press.
The stats from last week show Galway really should have won that game, but same old Galway - they just don't have the forwards 😉

It's Sean Kelly's fault for being on the pitch in the first place alright, the only logical position.

i mean, yes? he chose to take the risk and he's no shrinking violet himself. stuff like this happens all the time in football. i have seen countless lads with bad shoulders and bad hips being absolutely nailed even before a ball is thrown in. happens all over the country. it's pure sensationalism to act like this incident is anything new, and kelly will know it well himself.

And he shouldn't have started the messing with Hession if he didn't want to get any "attention"
