Armagh 28/1------ :D

Down 18-1?  When was the last time a beaten finalist started at such a big price for the next year?  Clearly the bookies believe Down massivly overachieved this year, were very lucky against kerry in terms of injuries and had a massive amount of luck against kildare.  Clearly the bookies are not afraid of Down for next year, and they would be right.

:D :D :D  In all good bookshops around Armagh. Racing up the charts apparently!

Jealous? Why? After all, Down haven't beaten Armagh in the Championship for nearly 20 years, and a young transitional Armagh team beat Down in a National Final at Croke Park this year by two points, while Cork could only manage a

Ah, grand so...Your 1 All Ireland all those years ago is better than our 5 All Irelands from all those years ago...Forgot about that.... :D
Why is it that Down are the only county who keep harping on about All Irelands won 50 years ago.  I dont know any other county who'd harps on about past glories so much....

:D :D :D  I do. The applemunchers have no choice but too, to feel accepted/ validated.  Their inferiority complex is on another level altogether. Hardly suprising when they are surrounded by Louth,Down and Tyrone, all much much more successful counties.

this is why most armagh fans fking hate down with a vengeance, we werent there yesterday but you still have to harp on about us
If you chose to translate a gentle humorous neighbourly jibe into "hate" and vengeance" you are truly sad and far removed from the friendly cross-county banter that has been the hallmark of the healthy Down-Armagh rivalry for generations.
Its more to do with jealousy and frustration. Some armagh fans look over the fence at their neighbours role of honour and feel utterly frustrated that the best squad they have ever had only delivered once. To listen to some they would argue that armagh should have been in contention with Kerry and Tyrone for the title of team of the decade.
Of course Armagh will be mentioned, as many Down supporters would have had their downturn in fortunes brought to the fore and rubbed in by their neighbours. Now come full circle with the golden age of Armagh football at an end, all their more successful neighbours (Down,Louth and Tyrone) look into Armagh  safe in the knowledge that they hold the bragging rights over them.

Thread stinks of homophobia. That's why I want to leave this country. In any other country it's ok for gays to snort cocaine and get caught but over here they're a target for scandelous remarks.

Let me ask you this earnestly - how many of you who posted on the thread were smirking, giggling or laughing their heads off at what they were writing? Would you be doing it if it was a thread about some woman being robbed by a heavy metaller in the streets? In Ireland youseem to have a disdain for anyone who is not A - Catholic B - Straight C - White

Getting f~~king over it you b~ast~ards

It could be worse,  he may have been a teacher or an Arsenal supporter !

Every county may have their problems but Derry football is on another level altogether. The sheer thuggery that is displayed year iin year out defies belief.  Their county board would seriously have to take a long hard look at themselves.

You can try and square your circle as much as you like , but theres a hell of a difference in a prank phonecall and an assault on a match official.

Another shameful episode from within this county. How many incidents has there been over the last number of years. And from reading the reports on the Derry thread there are quite a few that believed the referee  almost deserved  to be assaulted.  It was only a slap on the jaw, so what !  Unreal.  A shower of animals.easy to see that the wild mountain air and the gene pool mix continue to produce results year in and year out.

Hard to fathom how one man can cause so much disruption to so many people- I suppose history is littered with such people

Just to bring things into perspective... He brought untold amounts of joy to the same people..

Not completely correct. He was amoung a group of 30-35 who collectively brought untold amounts of Joy to people. Rightly so as a winning manager he got the praise deserved for steering Tyrone to all ireland victory and his contribution cant be questioned. However he never actually kicked a ball.

With the guidelines set out two years ago i feel genuinely sorry for the fellas with young families who are dedicated to gaelic games. At this stage they cannot even look at the possibility of booking a holiday for fear of clashing with a refixtured game. This not only affects the players, managers and club officials directly but all those assosciated with them.

For such a traditionalist Harte seems intent on creating a two tier GAA.

Couldnt agree more Zap.

Bitchfest alright. No fight will take place as one of the contestants will need the backing of the village. They never travel alone or fight alone. You decide ?
