The linesmans photo was taken before start of game (more of a test shot to check camera settings) so the man in backround wasn't inside the sideline during play, unless he was at one of the tables in front of dugouts.

Glad a few of you enjoy the pics, though floodlight match photos aren't as good as would like.

As an Ogs supporter I was neutral regarding outcome of game, thought Clans weren't in the hunt in the middle of the field most of the game and Harps just overwhelmed them in first half.

Was surprised that the Harps didn't come out firing on all cylinders in second half, thought after first game they'd want to make sure that not caught again.

Best team won, and hope Peadar isn't too badly injured, hate for an injury to badly affect any teams chances of progressing

Some Pics from Harps V Clans

Didn't catch the sending off as was following the ball at the time, was told by a neutral that there was a punch thrown straight in front of linesman.

Thought there was no need for the abuse the linesman got from fans, from the sending off till the end of game, with some coming down to the fence to shout abuse with only minutes to go and this from people with enough years on them to know better.

Ogs were by far the better side in the first half with what appeared to be a certain penalty not being given, Cross controlled first 20 minutes of the second half but Ogs then came back and I thought more than deserved the win

GAA Discussion / Re: GAA 125 Parade Armagh

Yep it is a great banner, stands out from the crowd with it's distintive coulouring, tried to get a good shot of all the banners either at Moy road or Irish street, but some were so close to those in front left it was difficult. Saw video and still camera on ring road bridge so should be a few good photos out there for clubs to access.

Also liked the St Marys Granemore camogie banner, nothing fancy but like the advert "does what it says on the tin" hard to beat the crossed sticks and sliotar.

It was a nice touch when accordian band leading parade stopped at Irish Street corner and gave John Convery a real thank you and cheer, he'd taught them all to play and as said they have won All Ireland 3 years on the trot fair play to them all.

I took photographs at the commemoration and have them on my flickr site,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/16144312@N07/sets/72157622062520708/detail/
they clearly show that there were a number of re-enactments along the route of the event, (first of which I missed photographing) they ran from growing up, involvement with the struggle through active service, arrest, interrogation and the Hunger Strike itself.
Since this was a commemoration to remember the lives of all the Hunger Strikers I can't see the problem with that, perhaps now with the hullaballoo we will no longer see Orangemen with ceremonial swords or the re-enactments with muskets being banned and Scarva were real shotguns and live rounds are used to shoot the "fenian" flag from a pole .
As I heard being asked on the radio of the SDLP, why was it ok for Alban McGuinness to actively canvas for votes in a GAA ground but not for a commemoration which was open to all, be banned from the same gounds as being political, pot and kettle once again.

Should I not take pictures of commemorations and then use the same camera to take photos of a GAA game, such a quandry.

Hurling Discussion / Armagh v Roscommon minor photos
August 08, 2009, 11:51:29 PM
Link to photographs I took at Armagh v Roscommon All Ireland Hurling Minor B Quarter Final, Armagh won 1-21 to 2-06 (may be a point out either way)

As may work out from photos there well may have been more on the field than watching.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/16144312@N07/sets/72157621982974236/detail/

One of Armagh's players had to be stretchered off with what appeared to be a neck injury after a collision with the Roscommon number 6 who was running at Armagh defence, can only hope he's ok

Was thinking that perhaps a thread for links to game photos might be an option, that's if there are others who take photos of games and load them to the net.

GAA Discussion / Photos Armagh V Dublin U21 challenge
January 31, 2009, 06:36:39 PM
Follow link to see photos from last nights U21 challenge game, wet and wild conditions didn't make for great football (or a good crowd) but it was free so shouldn't complain too much.
Don't know what the final score was, as scoreboard not in operation, think Dublin ran out comfortable enough winners but when taking pics can't really keep track of score, Dublin had a fair size lead going in at half time but Armagh got back into it in second half with the wind at their back, Dublin scored a penality and Armagh missed one. The ball was in the back of the Dublin goal and the ref appeared to say it was a squareball but took out his book and seemed to tick it so no idea if he gave it or not.
