Mountmellick lose to Clonaslee and are out of Intermediate. Very poor result for them, Laois could do with a strong Mountmellick team given the size of the area.

Good riddance to Crettyard.

Quote from: Neutralobserver on September 13, 2019, 12:28:18 PMThey did. The clubs refused and acted with all sorts of fuckology. We need the clubs to realise they're at f**k all on their own and start coming together, like Borris Kilcotton did, like Rathdowney Errill did, etc etc.Quote from: Don Draper on September 13, 2019, 12:23:04 PMQuote from: Neutralobserver on September 13, 2019, 12:20:33 PMWhich has nothing to do with your point.
exactly, and maybe thats the way the senior football championship should be,
my point is look at the senior football championship instead of running a tournament at the end of the year.
Quote from: Batman!!! on September 13, 2019, 12:24:04 PMWhats the issue?
Only issue I see with it is the amount of people on the management panels. Otherwise it's fine.

Quote from: Neutralobserver on September 13, 2019, 11:50:24 AMThere's 8 Senior Hurling Clubs in Laois. Anyone putting their hand up elsewhere is easily spotted. You're talking through your hoop.
also you have 5 or 6 lads over each team from different clubs and they all fighting to get their own players on the field even though deep down they know they not good enough for county standard. on the other hand it did raise a few pound for charity so it cant be put down to much but for spotting talent i don't think its the way to go. look at the progress of the senior hurlers this year and there was no divisional tournament ran!!!
Quote from: Neutralobserver on September 13, 2019, 08:15:28 AMAh you're dead right, get rid of the f**king thing.
Did we actually find any extra players from it last year as i cant remember any new names playing this year that was not already in the squad or the u-20 squad.
Quote from: Ogie on September 09, 2019, 10:23:19 AMWhat the f**k did Eddie do wrong?!
As was said here, Liam Dunne using Derek McGrath's name to push out Enda Lyons and get the job for himself
Mcgrath will be doing very little coaching & it is part of a placement as he completes a course.
So if I get a financial backer can I be Laois Senior Hurling manager next year??

I'd say Castletown will be kicking their lips at playing their rivals Camross, who aren't hurling well so far. Borris-Kilcottom will take care of Ballinakill fairly easily I'd imagine.
The real championship probably won't start until the semi-final stage though.
This is what I meant by shadow boxing. I believe that you will see a different Camross by the semis. Not that they weren't trying against C/B or B/K but they were a mile away from the intensity they normally show. Can't see Castletown getting anywhere near them in the quarters.
How do the semi draws work? I assume it has to be an open draw if Camross and B/K prevail as both have played Ballacolla already?
Quote from: GAA-SMART on August 26, 2019, 11:34:07 AMRelax. The horse bolted on payments a long time back. The GAA you long for is dead.Quote from: Don Draper on August 26, 2019, 11:13:49 AMQuote from: GAA-SMART on August 26, 2019, 11:09:44 AMSo McGrath's experience of winning back to back Harty and All Irelands with DLS would probably stand to him.
Can give you 10-15 thousand reasons why this is a bad idea.. number 1 being this is a minor team, ie 15-17 year old kids, not a senior one.
If thats your number 1, I'd say you wouldn't get to 15, let alone 15,000.
Point being when anyone clubs / county thinks it is ok to pay anyone that type of cash to train kids then we may stop calling the GAA an amateur organisation once and for all. This is an absolute farce and goes against all what the GAA should stand for, and if laois hurling people had any self respect theyd call this out for what it is. More or less the minor manager for the last 2 years lost his job here because someone has thrown money at a name.
