Interesting to see signs in Portlaoise town trying to recruit players to Clonad. Similar situation to Killeshin going into Graigue?
Not even remotely. Portlaoise patently canít handle the numbers in the town, this is a foolish riposte

As I said above, Laois' infrastructure and its mechanics are a soap opera.

In these sort of arrangements, I have seen first hand the pressure that exists to get everyone on the field. People can no longer accept that their youngster, their player, does not deserve to start. So some bright spark said when we have enough of one age group, we'll register them as a single team. This is not the first time this has happened. I think this is what brought Ballylinan Genmore to its knees as well. It needs to be discussed at length and arrangements need to be set in stone. There is a feeling of Open Season about everything we do, and it's very divisive. Talk about area teams and players getting access to senior football can be shelved until this sort of nonsense is resolved
Have to agree 100% Ballylinan went on their own a few years back due to one team initially pushing for it. The Rock split with St Pauls over one team. St Josephs and Barrowhouse probably over one player but it was hard to blame Barrowhouse. The word is that Crettyard pulled the trigger on their split with Killeshin while Kilcavan went on their own once they were able to. This is only football and hurling is probably similar.  Have to admire Stradbally Parish Gaels for going the distance. There is no problem with any club going on their own if they have the numbers but they can't have it everyway. Killeshin were dead right to pull the whole thing if Crettyard initiated the latest split. Why deal with a club who will let you down when it suits them.

SPG came very close to disbanding last year over the Stradbally name in the teamís name and no recognition of the other 2 clubs
That and one club poaching anotherís players

Really Don

When was there poaching in the past few years?

We sent the c***ts home over the mountain with their tae in a mug

I suppose the above contribution is all that could be expected from this forumís resident amadŠn.
All fair-minded Laois supporters, though a bit jealous of our neighbourís success in football and hurling, would have nothing but admiration for what they achieved over the years.
You cut me real deep there Shrek

Club league fixtures are up on the website now.

No mention of the county fixtures or results. Latest news is from December!!!!
New website supposed to be in the pipeline. Badly needed.
Not worth a flying f**k unless they assign someone to update it.

No it's not acceptable, it happens but clubs that do it get a very bad name for themselves and are despised by every real GAA person in Laois and everyother club in the County. Killeshin are in danger of heading that way if they don't cop on, a few people in that club seem destined to destroy everything they have achieved up till now.
Come down off your cross. Itís accepted. What did the real GAA men you speak of do when the Kingstonís were taken? What did they do when Daly was taken? What did they do when Bowe and Ramsbottom were taken? Jesus I could go on and on.

You and the rest of your real GAA men can go and shite.

Killeshin at this time have a bigger pick of players than they have ever had in their history and yet they go poaching from their neighbours and fellow parishioners. They have always been a very proud club and have never stooped to this level even when they were struggling so whoever is behind this should hang their heads in shame.

A lot of Killeshin people are disgusted with this carry on and want nothing to do with it. They want their own sons and daughters to play with that club, not some people who have been fooled into joining them now and will have to live with it for the rest of their lives when they are old enough to realise what they have done. They have a great setup now in the club and have won the admiration of a lot of Laois people but one thing that is not acceptable in Laois is the poaching of players, especially when its done so publicly. Just ask Killeen about that.....

Sadly poaching is very acceptable in this county, you can ask Killeen and many other clubs about that.

Game now moved to 3PM. This is to allow extra time for stewards to remove weapons from supporters entering the ground

Where is this fixture on looks like we could be on for a record Kelly Cup attendance😂😂😂

2PM on Sunday in Killeshin. Killeshin committee members will be on 24 hour patrol before the game to prevent any Graigue graffiti artists from getting access to the grounds, while Graigue supporters are asked to vigilant at all times in case their children are made sign a transfer form when they're not looking.

It will be really interesting to see how Carlow hold up against Waterford, this Saturday.
Wexford wont hammer anyone, now with that sweeper system. But they'll still beat Carlow.
