OTB, I am not saying theres no benefit in teaching young peole how to drink responsibily in the home. however there is a big difference in teaching how to use in a safe manner and just allowing your kids to drink at home. Many parents opt for the last option and hope for the best.

OTB , I have to disagree with you. We  can all give examples as you have outlines but it now agreed that early use = increased cnace of problems later, now accepted medical fact.

Theres another issue here for us all. We as a nation have a poor attitude to drinking alcohol. Too many people drink to get drunk. getting very drunk is seen as being great craic. It is almost seen as a weakness to drink in moderation. Also far too many parents let their children drink in their teenage years despite clear medical evidence that this increases the chances of developing a drink related problem. We are sitting on a time bomb of drink related health problems. This very young lad is a clear sign of that.

The more you suck those grapes Tony the sour they become. Keep on sucking.

Tony who has the taste of Sour Grapes? Tyrone talking about bad decisions 4 days ago or you chatting about games 4 years ago. You give Armagh fans a bad name.

I hope he gets it no matter who wins the semi final. However I predict that if he makes one dodgy decision some elements of the media will go to town on him, to 'prove he's no better that the others' I sure hope I'm wrong on this issue.

I have to say I think its daft. I have mates of a certain age. Brown/fair hair their whole lives. Over a feckin weekend they arrive with this mop of perfect dark brown hair. the hardest part is you can't ask did you get your hair done at the weekend? Father Ted springs to my mind each time.

I would just like to ask the board what their opinions are with regard to men wearing wigs or adding a little bit of 'Just for Men' to the old hair wash. I mean in relation to vainity now not those who may do so for health reasons. This weeks Sunday Game seemed, to the untrained eye to have a lot of colour on show. Cool or just silly?

Indianna in answer to your question i would have no probs saying the same about Whelan, its the double standards which get to me. Either everone is tried by video or no-one. I bet though if it had been whelan or ricey there would have been plenty of calls for either to miss the final. Double standards.

I agree rrhf I would hate to see anyone miss an All Ireland final and I dont want anyone to miss this years final in this manner. However I would hope that video or selective evidence is either used against everyone or no one and not just used on a slective basis as dictated by some gombeen of a pundit getting paid for their opinion.

This will also cause problems for those who go shopping to Dublin over the Christmas holiday period and for the shops waiting on their money. Thank God there were no deaths, fair play to the driver.

bcarrier, you make a fair point but if you watch the incident again you can see that he did not drop his knee as such but he clearly kicked a player as the player lay on the ground. It was indeed a nasty bit of work. A discussion was about to start about this on the sunday game but Des moved on at a quick pace.
