With minor football you never can tell. Id make Mayo slight favourites seeing as they beat Down handy enough and we struggled to put Down away.

Hilarious. I think the core of the sun is the only thing comparable to how hot of favourites Armagh will be. Fine by us in Mayo though.

Hardly. Paddypower have Armagh at 8/11 and Mayo at 11/8 - not exactly overwhelming favourites

Ya but come on, how often would a bookmaker make one team overwhelming favourites in a final!! Two horse race is hardly a good judge of odds. I've seen both teams play, Armagh twice and Mayo four times.

May We Never Have to Say Goodbye

Its a good song but Jesus, Croke Park rip the complete dick out of it!!!! There is bound to be other songs that could be played!!!!!

I'm totally sick of it

Agreed. Aside from the fact that it's brutal and played on every local radio station in the country, after every match is a bit much.

Jebus lads...chillax!! I think indiana may have made a little mistake by saying it's a fact, like i know what he means, obviously can't be proven that it is a fact but people say stuff all the time on this forum like that! Just trying to make a point and thats fair enough!! Now, can't we all just get along!!  :D :P

The amount of complete bullshite this lad has been posting over the last number of months is ridiculous. Credibility is an issue and I simply felt it needed highlighting.

Obviously people can make up their own minds

Thats fair enough, only new to this yoke so haven't read whats been going down the last few months but i'll obviously have to lean to your side of the matter being from the homeland and all!!

Barney.....just that it defied logic for him to spend a few minutes talking about how superior the Armagh team is and then to say that Mayo have to beat them. I attended the Armagh quarter against Kildare and the semi final against Kerry. I've been to all the Mayo minor games bar the Tipp quarter final. You've got the be realistic about our chances.

Tony Davis really got to me last night. The comment he made about the minor final really annoyed me. "Mayo have to start winning, getting to finals is useless". Oh well then Tony, since you said it, then i suppose we'll have to win it this time. His attitude was terrible, he failed to acknowledge that the Aramagh minor team are unbelievable we are going to need a miracle to beat them. All well and good saying that Mayo have to win it but you have got to be realistic when you have a team that is cleary inferior to the side we are going to face but hopefully we'll get a miracle!!!!

The 1st half display by Mayo was one of the worst i've seen by a Mayo team at any grade......EVER.

Heard the news there that Tom Cunniffe is heading to college in England this year. He was a savage loss in this years championship in fairness and really hope that he'll continue playing ball for Mayo, will take a huge effort by him to keep training and get back for matches.

Also, really hope Kerry knock seven shades of shite out Meath this weekend and then Cork do the same to Kerry. I shall be at the minor match this sunday, i'm sure our friends from Meath will only have nice things to say about my jersey!

Back to the original topic here!! Yes Brendan Murphy has decided to return home.
Its great news for his club Rathvilly and especially for Carlow.

His story in Aus is that in his 1st few months there he was picked out as someone who would be on senior side by end of 1st season. But then he had injury after injury...it was crazy. He would just recover from 1 thing when he would damage or pull something else in a reserve game etc..

His 2 year contract ended, but they saw he had the talent to make it, and offered him a new 1 year deal.
But Bren was so pissed off with all the injuries and frustration he has endured since going to Aus that he decided to come home.
His main reason for coming home this year is that he is still u-21 for Carlow next year. And his knows this side has big potential.
Next years 21s will be the minor team that got to leinster final in 07 and only got beaten in AI qf by eventual champs Galway.

Carlow football as im sure most of you know is crap, but that minor side of 07 was/and still is our hope. Already 2 or 3 of them are on senior side and helped us to a win v Wicklow which stopped their promotion, and then ran Louth and Donegal close in championship.

Next year with Murphy back on board that 07 minor side is our 21s and could well shock all and bring a very very long (since 1944) awaited leinster title to Carlow!!

Fair play. Hope they win it.
Not a hope in hell. More chance of winning the Leinster Hurling.

In fairness to JOM, he is making the best of a bad situation. He combined the Dail with Mayo players based in Dublin training session on Tuesday nights in Lucan at the Garda grounds. Trainng sessions which had a fair whack of panel members, Conor Mort, Barry Moran, Cunniffe, Hennelly, Billy Joe, Austie, Ronaldson ect....Still, would be better if he was totally focused on the Mayo job!!

If Dempsey lied down in 1996 I'm sure it was because he was after getting clocked in the chin by one of our dear friends from Meath and it wasn't by choice. Very true abbeysider, just hope they don't have the blinkers on regarding players in the junior and intermediate championships. Anybody remember the 6 forwards who played against Fermanagh in Sligo when we lost in the qualifiers a few years back in the pissings of rain?? Think all 6 were from intermediate clubs if memory serves me correctly? 2 Morts, Sheridan.....
