good man minder, life's to serious :D

Geoff, after reading most of your posts i felt you needed some help, either, self help or group help. as it is a discussion board, the group help thing is a goer. What you should do is get some perspective, badly needed perspective, because reading through your posts  you sound like a nutter

Geoff, seriously you have got some issues going on in your life if you hate Roy over a game of football. To give you a taster of where I am coming from, there is something like 200,000 homeless kids in India, some are used in the sex trade, others to make money fro some other pimp etc, never mind the thoausands who had no water over xmas, ie their toilets didn't flush...where do you shite at then, couldn't take a shower, you get my general drift, and you talk as if your life has been ruined, would you catch a grip of yourself FFS

Yeah buts is problem ,they can't afford to have enough top players. They currently have Torres and SG on that type of money, couldn't afford to have many more, essentially thats why they are where they are, and winning the EPL is not in their radar for the next 5 years

Bingo did you read any of the papers at the weekend, it was all about him being sacked, feck i read nothing else about LP

Why would he want to talk to the press the way they have been treating him!

Mick O'Connell in the subs...............Jim McKeever..............Alarming.

Know where you're coming from Hardstation, but, in fairness, he played aginst them both, and no better man to be giving his opinion.
I haven't even seen either of them play but still alarming.

whats alarming about it, Jim Mc keever is recognised as an all time great. He was selected at midfield in the 1984 centerary team, captained and played for Ulster on countless occassions at midfiled and in the all ireland semi final of 58 cleaned O'connell out at midfield. a living legend sir! In summary i agree with James snr :D

We all don't use the spell check ::), as I figured you were bright enough to understand it ;)

SS2, it seems that your idea of the black arts is completely different to mine. Kiernan Mc Keever of Armagh or Derry, Mick Lynons of Meath, Mc Menamin of Tyrone etc are players who genuninely use the black arts, Mc Guigan wouldn't come close to them, as one might say he would be as green as grass in comparsion to them. As for Blaney, I agree that he was class CHF, but he was ruthlessly dirty, his elbows did some damage when they had too, but I would have Blaney at CHF also.

All only opinions after all.For what it's worth I would for starters leave out Scullion.Downey,McGeaney,Dooher, Donnelan and Blaney and put in their place

Anthony Lynch
Martin O'Connell
Dara Ó Sé (move Cavanagh positionally)
Maurice Fitzgerald
Colin Cooper.
Kevin O'Brien.
Sorry Canalman but anyone who leaves Greg Blaney out of a 90s team doesnt know much about football :-\ :-\

Given that it's a post 1990 team, Joyce and Brian McGuigan would push Blaney for the forty yards spot, but their over-reliance on the dark arts means, for this purist anyway, Blaney is the best (and only) choice.

Tomas O'Se is the best half back of his generation and has to be in ahead of Paul Curran. Surprised Oisin didn't make the sub bench.

Bit of an appeasement to Armagh fans having Stevie in there Gocch is twice the player!
Wouldn't agree.......Gooch is a super player no doubt and I could see where there would be a debate between him and Stevie for that place, but twice the player??? No!
Stevie has had to suffer some poor service at times in his Armagh career,, if Gooch had've received the same service he would not have got the same scores Stevie has.

no doubt stevie mcdonald is a class act but just not in the same league as cooper, when gooch doesnt get the service he goes looking for it,just look to last weekends club match he ended up in the middle of the field and starred
Not in the same league?? Half as good as Cooper?? This sort of stuff sickens my sh1te.....if you want to say that you would pick Cooper instead of McDonnell then fair enough...........but this exaggeration is OTT.

gooch is head and shoulders above any other player at the minute not just mcdonald, even on a quiet day he still makes a major impact at some stage other players including mcdonald and brogan can be marked out of the game for the entire match,he is unmarkable
I'm getting it tight to take you seriously when you repeatedly spell McDonnell's name wrong.
Gooch is a super player.........so is McDonnell, opinions will vary as to who should be on the team.......but he's NOT "twice as good/in a different league etc." as Stevie.

thats what its all about, opinions and i suppose we should just agree to disagree.
as regards you not taking me seriously because i spelt his name wrong!well thats the first time i have lost my creditbility due to spelling, thankfully i didnt have to do a spelling test when they were handing me my medals! ;)

I love satire. Well done isourboydownyet.

SS2 when you refer to Mc guigan and the dark arts, well I'm puzzled, care to elaborate. Outside of Brian making the best of Mc Cartan throwing the ball at him in the Ulster final, I can't think of anything that might fall under the banner of the dark arts, and thats including that specific act.

Tyson was and you could strongly argue, that he was more intimidating than Foreman. How many boxers were beaten before they stepped into the ring with him or beaten in the first few minutes in the ring prior to the fight start just by his intimidatory personna. he was simply sensational in the period from he was 19 until he was 22, unstoppable. It seemed from the documentary and by his own admission that cus was the only person who he trusted, and that he would have done anything for, even all these years later he was holding back the tears when he was talking about him. If only cus had of been around him for another, say even 5 yrs, we would be talking about the greatest of all time.

His childhood was one of fear, lived in neighbourhoods where death was a a good luck penny away. His mother, did I hear that right, she was a prostitute and that was sex was all around him. He fell into gangs and was lifted by the cops at 12, he had 1500$ in his pocket, were talking 1979/80.

Did any of you watch the docu on Tyson the other night. He was brutaully honest which made the documentary really despairing to watch. It was obvious to see once more how positive or negative experiences in a childs life either makes or breaks him as a human being. I found it truely sad to watch.

watched Blue Velvet last night on TCM. Thought it was areal good movie, very dark and disturbing in places. Thought Denis Hooper was excellent. Anyone else see it.

only after watching it there again, poor football overall, Tyrone were the best team, missed two sitters of goals in the first half. Mc Geeney was no where to be seen in the second half and it was a correct call to hall him ashore. What can you say about Russells performance, very typical for him.

Cork wpn the All Ireland and the national league, the double, and they don't have an All star forward, balls. Goulding who was consistant all year, and puts in the big pressure performance when his team needed him most gets ignored, jez lads do ya know anything at all

corrected, stupid ballox, i am, but i still stand by my point
