Israel don't have a plan for after. Looks more like they're working on a final solution.

Don't agree, the plan is to rid Gaza of Palestinians. Get down to a manageable number. Plant it with Jews. Then start on west bank. You don't have to dig to had to find it as many zionists are already saying this publicly.

That is the plan, total ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
October 7th provided the smokescreen for it, but the Zionists were always planning for this to happen.

No no no. That means you get dragged into the equation for night feeds!

Whilst true blue is correct if push does come to shove and the bottle feeds are a thing then the Tommy Tippee yolk is a great job, only takes a minute or so to make a bottle.

When I started on this journey 17 years ago now it didn't exist and the midwife warned against pre made bottles for night feeds so it was jump up, boil the kettle, make the feed with the formula and then run the bloody thing under a cold tap  ;D  ;D till it cooled enough for the wee bollox to take.
The first you always follow the rules as best you can then after a few others you realise a lot of if is bollox.
The auld dummy used to have to be sterilised if it touched anything, at the end it got a bit of a lick and back in the grateful gob of the ba..

Enjoy it, the time will fly in.
Our first was pre Tommy tippee machine. But we got wise and got a wee flask and had it up at the bed side. Got real good at it. Used to put boiling water in the flask, let it cool a bit with top off, then top on and bring it up to bedroom with the wee pot of formula. The bloody bedside table looked like we were flat out on coke every night with the amount of formula spilt everywhere.

Ahh good times!

Ours was all before these machines. 1st one is 15 and was on draft so no hassle at nights there but twins were next so the bottles were introduced early on. We had a kettle in the bedroom and everything was a military operation, timings etc. No breaking routine for anything, left family gatherings etc to make sure they were in bed at the right time. One fella would wake up like clockwork on the 4 hour mark, she lift the 2 of them out and change nappies while I got the 2 bottles sorted. Fed, winded and back down.

Mad times and I was working long hours back then too. You wonder how you got through it but you always work it out, never compare yourself to what others are saying they're doing.

You'd never believe the joy of hearing a good burp at 4 in the morning, bliss....

Don't get them winded properly and you'd be cleaning up the boke 10 minutes later

As a Belfast school? I imagine so...

Mostly Down players by the looks of that panel, heck even one of our lads lined out and he doesn't play club football.

Coming to a relegation threatened club near you 2025.
Think of all the players to leave Liverpool this one probably bugged me the most due to the bullshit he was coming out with at the time.  Better players in the past have left such as Suarez, Alonso, Torres, Fowler, but I could understand why they moved on at the time.  Will always appreciate what Henderson done but the way he went about the whole thing left a sour taste.

He did Liverpool a favour even if he didn't know it.

Klopp was able to rebuild midfield from scratch and to date has done a decent job of that.

Quote from: Truth hurts on January 16, 2024, 11:25:30 AMWe, the loyal members of the Down GAA, have tolerated mediocrity in football and hurling since the year 2000. In Ulster, we used to be respected, but now we have to be jealous of places like Derry, Tyrone, Donegal, etc. What is wrong with our wonderful county?

In crude terms, I don't think we ever really built on our success in the 90s to the extent we should have, and rely too much on waiting on golden generations to come along. It's a lot more complex than that, but I think that essentially sums in up.

In regards to the mediocrity in the hurling, it's simply a lack of clubs. You can't expect to be challenging for All Irelands when you've only a handful of players to choose from.

There's 6 clubs in the senior championship. There's 16 in the football equivalent. There's not even 16 hurling clubs in the county. If the hurlers had the resources that the footballers had, I think they'd do alright.

The good news for us is that in both codes, there is a path to improvement. We are not hampered by a small population, and have a good GAA culture.

Hopefully better days are coming.

Down got to all ireland final 2010, then st colmans won back to back Hogans in 2011 and 2012 they seemed in a really good spot at that stage.  Along with the competitiveness of Kilcoo over the last 10 years seems strange that Down have been so unsuccessful.

Take Kilcoo and maybe Burren out of it, but does the standard of club football at senior level drop off a bit of cliff?

If Kilcoo were pushed to the pin of their collar in the Down championship by a few other teams then you'd have more optimism in the standard of club football being able to sustain a highly competitive county senior team.

Quote from: statto on January 17, 2024, 11:58:16 AMRonnie while being the GOAT is an arrogant so and so, who I could never warm too.  The class of 92  Higgins and Williams always come across as decent lads.  Carter has went through a tough time with cancer previously, but always thought he was a dose as well both from the same area as well.  Was hoping Allen would win Saturday night as Sundays final was a case of wanting both to lose!

Did Carter accuse Ronnie of snotting on the carpet during the game or something like that?

Now, not nice in fairness, but to bring it up after getting beat comes across as sour grapes and Ronnie really shouldn't be delving into someones mental health considering his own tribulations in that regard.

Quote from: lurganblue on January 16, 2024, 04:09:36 PMSerious problems in all public sectors.  At least a decade of year on year 1% pay rises.  Even before inflation went mad after Covid, that was awful and represented an effective pay cut.  All around you see private industry workers getting pay rises between 6-12%, each year. Even Universal Credit rose 10.1% in April 2023, with 6.7% more in April coming.

The SOS can sort it, but instead is choosing to use public sector workers as a stick to beat the DUP with.

This will be a large strike day.  But overall, what will the impact be to services?  Probably very little.
Private industry only increase staff pay when they can support it though their own revenue generation. The public sector is important but it is massively bloated and inefficient so any government is going to baulk at throwing money into what is an unsustainable model. It could be made more efficient and therefore sustainable to allow wage growth but some unions block efficiency at every turn as their mandate is to protect workers right at the cost of everything else.

It's even more inefficient to be paying agency staff almost twice the hourly rate someone on your payroll gets.

Some load of recruitment agencies getting wile rich off the back of this shítshow in the NHS in particular.

Unions have their issues alright, there's no denying that but the amount of privatised contracts from cleaning, food etc etc in the NHS poorly managed would scare you.

As for schools, the first thing cut is the extra provisions for kids with learning difficulties so count yourselves lucky that evidently most of you complaining aren't in that boat.

Hopefully, the other ones mentioned here just have wee niggles and will be back for the league as that's a big lot of lads to do without.

I thought Seaan and Nigel were heading away as well.

Might be wrong about Seaan but pretty sure I read that Nigel is definitely travelling again.

I was basing it on an article from November which does mention Seaan too but missed him in my post.

Seems Nigel gone too according to multiple posters.

Need to try to survive this year while bedding in a few new ones. That's close to half a team and nearly all starters too.

We'd three senior hurlers take off to Australia "for the year" and they still haven't returned and that's 5 years later.

Ah here. That's disgraceful. This will cause deaths and for what? A pound or two extra an hour?
Hopefully the anger is directed to the right people, not the ordinary workers. No better way to show they're worth paying properly.

Aye, I'm sure the families of ones killed on ungritted roads will sympathise with the workers

Seriously? You're fucked in the head if you think for a second (hopefully it never happens) that the anger will be directed elsewhere.

They ain't doing it over money btw

I know you live just outside the big smoke but there's loads of ungritted roads in our area, who would we blame if someone was killed on them?

Seem to be.

What do we do when they all leave for better jobs? Don't think robots can take over just yet.
But we aren't in that position nor will we ever be in that position. There has to be some reason why people who are absolutely in dire straits through terrible pay and conditions (according to reports) don't think "enough of this" and apply for jobs elsewhere.

Isn't that what the nurses and doctors are doing anyway and look at the state of the NHS.

And even better, they hand in their contracts and then go through an agency and get paid even more for doing the same job but get to pick the more convenient shifts.

And that's how your tax is getting spunked against the wall.

yes there is, 2022/2023 season, my bad.

The point remains though as these rules are based on a rolling three season period, so say Everton were out of kilter in 2021/2022 they'd get punished twice for the same bad year or years.

This one is strange and it looks like the Premier League are about to re-write their rules in the summer with whatever they're charging Everton for won't be an issue

Read somewhere over the weekend that the Cork intermediate hurling winners would be the 25th best team in Cork and their junior winners would be their 50th best team in Cork so I'm presuming out of that they've 24 senior clubs between Premier (12 teams) and A (12 teams) grades and similar in Intermediate.

Now there's a huge amount of clubs, regional teams in Cork so maybe that works for them in terms of giving each club a standard they can hope to achieve something in and with both their junior and intermediate champions getting to an AI final albeit both were beaten by their Kilkenny equivalents who'd be the 13th graded team and the 24th graded team respectively based on the fact they've 36 teams in Kilkenny..

there's no quick fix to this
