Both sides very tired I thought. Likes of Conor Mc Hugh look knackered.

DCU marginally better. Gas that DCU promote such talk of player welfare yet the Sigerson Cup is played over a weekend. In these weather conditions two games in two days is madness
I thought it was very nice of Moyna to take McHugh off at half time while leave our own Enda Smith on longer until he could give no more then take him off only to bring him back on again in extra time  ::)

The rossies are oozing class style and arrogance in a very vibrant team with some of the best forwards in murtagh. Promotion id imagine and win connaught and sneak a final 4. That would be a progressive year and rightly so.
Two posts from you on this thread already are you going to post under the name Put up that flag next?

They were bad losers, as always, and huffed and puffed

Sounds like you supporters & Mayo seniors 1989 to 2014.

For all your wins over us & Connacht titles won not to mention the pick & resources compared to us you still only have won one more senior All Ireland than us. No wonder you have to count sheep to sleep at night & can't get them off your mind during the day  :D

I thought the United performance was better today than some of the recent wins. Swansea goal/winner a fluke but thats football. After last season getting into the top 4 was always going to be a real battle & as the saying goes at the end of the season the league table will not lie.

Oh Larryin89 what familiar rant from you a middle age chap that grew up on the border/door step of Ballaghaderreen County Roscommon. I suppose your obsessive behavior about everything Roscommon is so deep rooted that not even a top psychologist could help you now.

What part of our unbeaten senior championship run in Machale Park ended in 1992 do you not understand? our minors,U21s had to wait a good while for wins in MacHale park also simply because they weren't good enough to win there & how that has changed since. Same applies for our seniors now we wait & the wait will be all the more sweeter not just to win but when we regain our winning run there.

Until we right that a few grand profit on a bus is a nonsense fact. Taking auld ones to bingo was it? Don't know what possessed you to resurrect it in the first place. Let's play the ball and not the bus.
How is that a nonsense fact?

Only nonsense is this thread started by a Longford larry on assumptions & has 18 pages and counting since. In regards to Machale park we drew in 1989 and 1991 our unbeaten run came to end in 1992 when the crossbar broke. While the seniors still wait our minors,U21s have beaten Mayo there and Brigids,Ros seniors have won Connacht titles so that venue has brought some happy memories also.

Roscommon are oozing class, style and arrogance. Add that to kerry know how with evand and kerins(a very good addition to backroom) all in all rossies to get promoted to div 1 with galway) we will win connaught and maybe sneak last 4 if all falls rite.

By the way the u21 under a top top manager in mark dowd and a top top player if corcoran is fit. If he is rossies to win3rd time lucky ;D

Is that you Sean from Kilmovee? have lost count of the amount of usernames you have created both on here and on SS. Your deep rooted obsession with us is not healthy.

My prediction for provincial U21 winners is Dublin, Kerry, Roscommon & Armagh.

Based on results in the 2015 Hastings Cup Roscommon will be right in the All Ireland mix along with Kerry. In Connacht Mayo appear to be stronger than Galway. Both were beaten by Roscommon in the Hastings Cup, Mayo by 5 points & Galway by 13 points in the Hastings Cup final. Leitrim also acquitted themselves well losing the semi final to Galway in extra time. In Leinster Meath despite being all Ireland minor finalists in 2012 will not feature as they suffered a series of heavy defeats in the Hastings Cup. Kildare also failed to shine. The only Ulster team to compete in the Hastings Cup was Cavan who appear not to be as strong as the Cavan U21 teams from the last 3 years. Kerry won the Hastings shield having won all of their games except for a draw against Roscommon. Tipp failed to shine.

Dublin are the team to beat at U 21 with forwards Cormac Costello & Conor Mc Hugh leading the way. Roscommon's I believe have more quality players than either Mayo or Galway this year but a lot depends on the performance on the day. Their chances of All Ireland glory depend on whether midfielder Thomas Corcoran recovers from his ankle injury in time & whether they can improve on the defensive system that wasn't up to the task against Dublin in last years final.

Impressive first post. Hasting cup is pre season competition to test the strength of panels, the championship a different level with first 15s facing off against each other.

No one mentioning Cavan for Ulster? From the outside looking in we seemed to totally experiment in the Hastings cup. We still have the spine of last year's team and unlike last year I think we have some natural forwards in Conor Madden, Ryan Connolly and Tom Hayes. Be interesting to see whether we change tactics at u21 level like our seniors are doing.
Non talk should suit Cavan fine. Tough Ulster draw for you guys though?

Was at the game on Wednesday night the 1st half was uncomfortable viewing the worst i have seen United play this season since the 2nd half display v leicester city back in September. 2nd half (apart from the woeful defending at the start) was a more controlled display & United could easily have won 4/5-1. Good consistency in the last dozen results but the performances will have to improve, fixture wise March looks like a key month.

For the record this time last year United were 7th in the table on just 41 points had just drawn at home to Fulham in the now infamous game of thousand crosses & were out of both domestic cups with two very disappointing home exits to inferior oppositions.

In regards to how far United are currently behind Chelsea i should point out in 2004/5 season United finished almost 20 points behind Chelsea by 2007 United were league champions again & European champions in 2008.

Ah in fairness we always beat Roscommon.
Wrong. 2008 last Kiltoom meeting ended in draw. 1990 Meath were on the end of 16 point trimming which was also played in Kiltoom.

Holy feck! ;)

Are you fancying it a bit more now Sráth Bán? ;)

Mayo are taking the piss with that team! Tyrone by 5! 😃

Why? Similar to Killarney team as Miles pointed out.

I don't know who Miles is but Moysider was happy enough.

Actually not a bit surprised by the result today. As you may remember I called it an FBD selection. But I welcomed the chances being given to new lads and Hall, O Connor and Durcan when he came in played well. The trouble set in from experienced players. Vaughan set off the wides rot early. Once Tyrone got their noses in front set up like that there was only going to be one winner.
Miles was me referring to yer own Sráth Bán.

Similar performance from Mayo today as against us in FBD. With two points gained from Kerry away and still three home games to play ye should still stroll into the semi finals.

Another totally disjointed performance by Man United against a patched up West ham side. The goal given away was shocking defending. Point gained I suppose and the wait continues for this LVG side to click I think I'll be waiting for a while..

More like it from our lads tonight the platform was set for the win in the 1st half when we led by 6 points at the break however our what we have we'll hold 2nd half tactics on another night or in the past would have got us caught but credit to the lads they dug in showed great character & our subs U Harney, D Smith, C Cregg all made a telling contributions to a well deserved win.

Key to success to consistency judging by our inconsistent run of results this year we have much to improved on. Impressive win for Cavan tonight with their strong midfield pairing & well organised defence it going to take a good side to beat them in this division. Surprising slow start to the league by Kildare knowing our luck they will probably be in flying form by the time we play them.
