All great teams have strong and consistent spines, I was trying to think over the last 5 years who would fill this void for Tyrone?

3. McNamee
6.
8.
9.
11.
14.

Is it fair to suggest that McNamee is the only player who consistently played in one of these jerseys? It is pretty mad to think that Harte has never  established someone to consistently fill at least half or 3/4s of these positions. I know the game is more fluid now but even today you couldnt say what position Harte or Donnelly play for Tyrone.

Very true omagh_gael. Harte, Donnelly, McGeary, Burns, Hampsey plus others constantly moved and changed. No chance of getting a settled team with that much change.

I've no doubt that its time for Mickey to move on, what he has done for Tyrone football will be remembered forever and everyone should be very thankful to him for it. Time waits for no man though and unfortunately for him his time has come. He has been given loads of time/resources/money (some may say too much) to build another team but alas it hasn't worked out. The frustrating thing for myself is that this team has huge potential and we aren't getting the best out of them, even yesterday, that match was there for the taking and again that chance wasn't taken advantage off. Another thing I've noticed over the last few years is a worrying lack of discipline creeping in from some of our players (on a few occasions yesterday ie McGeary, McCann were guilty of mouthing to the ref and frees being moved in) no top team does that, Donnelly showed his frustration to McCann on one occasion for this. Also there was countless lazy tackles put in that resulted in cheap frees, not exactly a forte of the great Tyrone teams who were exemplary in their tackling.

Going forward who is best placed for the job? I have no doubt that McGuinness would improve this team, would he cost much more than Harte is on at the minute? I'd say doubtful. I would go for him, his attention to detail is second to none with fantastic game management. I think his style of play with Donegal was dictated by the players at his disposal, I wouldn't be surprised if his style changed if he takes over this bunch of Tyrone players.

As some have alluded too, the County board may be reluctant to go outside the county. If that's the case, front runners would be Logan, Canavan, Dooher I believe. Although inexperienced at this level, I still think that this would be an improvement, mainly due to the fact that they would bring a lot of much needed freshness. Interesting times ahead, can we rely on the Count board to make the correct decision? We will soon find out.

Our minors qualified for a championship final after a battle against strabane up in Strabane (was never going to be anything else up there) credit where credit is due strabane had the homework done after a bit of a timbering in the league campaign. Our boys showed mighty spirit at the start of the second half to get pull themselves back into the game.  Omagh now in the championship final sunday fortnight who are the only team to hold that team to a draw all year with the league final against ardboe next wednesday.

On another note if you get a chance go on Teamtalk Twitter or facebook and check out the goal scored by Barney gormleys young girl last night in the minor girls final. Class act

Delighted to see Strabane beat :D

Great match last night with a huge crowd in attendance, brilliant advert for underage football. Strabane missed goal chance in the first half maybe came back to bite them. Carmen were outstanding in the first 10/15 minutes of the second half, that purple patch effectively won them the match. Showed great maturity as well seeing out the match. That Strabane team will be back next year, think 11 of the starting 15 are still minor next year.

Classy Glenman!  :-\

For those interested in Covid 19 from a NI perspective, Aaron Donaghey on Facebook is giving a good insight into it.

Lads wondering if I could get your thoughts. Me and my mate set up a consultancy and training firm last year. We got our first contract and employ a speech and language therapist and occupational therapist 3 days per week each alongside the work we do. We do not employ them through PAYE, they're technically self employed themselves. The service we work in is at high risk of being temporarily shut down due to the vulnerability of the clients to Covid19 meaning our contract will likely be suspended too for the duration.

Am I right in thinking that none of us will be entitled to the 80% scheme announced by the government? I think my reading is that we may only be entitled to the universal credit equivalent. Another headache is that we aren't even a year through our contract so we have not have any tax returns as our business started after April 2019.

Unfortunately it would seem so. £94 a week! There is pressure building though so hopefully they address it. There are 5 million self employed in UK, surely they have to come up with something for them.

Off me head, venues that can hold floodlight fixtures...

* Stewartstown
* Greencastle
* Eoghan Ruadh, Dungannon
* Fintona (Training)
* Dromore (Training)
* Carrickmore (Training)

To add, has the work at Garvaghy on its floodlight pitch been completed, and is Strabane's training pitch suitably floodlight?

Garvaghey floodlite pitch looked pretty much ready a few weeks ago. Strabanes pitch and floodlights are top class but there is no fence around the pitch which I'd assume you would need.

Greencastles floodlights are IMO not good enough to host a match (unless they have been upgraddd in the last year?) although night matches have been played there recently

Interesting development coming out of Australia this morning. If McKenna comes home indefinitely it sheds a whole new light on Tyrone's All Ireland hopes

News to please all Tyrone folk. Allstar full forward Cathal Mc Shane is staying with the Ref Hands @TyroneGAALive

Breaking news from teamtalkmag

Maybe it's just me but it's a major bugbear of mine that Teamtalk break so much important and sometimes official Tyrone GAA news. Surely it's up to Tyrone GAA to report this?  Does this happen in any other county?

Surely when people sign up to WhatsApp they have to agree to allowing their phone number and profile photo to be used? It's going to be very difficult to stop people using it as its a simple, free, effective tool. It will be interesting to see what the GAA communications app is like, if it's not simple, easy to use and offers a 'group chat' function it simply won't work. If it's an extension of the servasport text service whereby you have to buy credits to send texts they may just knock it on the head now.

The outcome of discussions on reserve competitions from last nights meeting is very disappointing. For years now reserve football has been on its knees. My club discussed this at length and whilst we could see some flaws in decoupling the games we felt it had to be worth a shot in order to try to breathe some new life into the reserve competitions. I am astounded this was defeated by a vote and would love to see a club breakdown. I can see no sense in not trying this approach for at least 1 year. Yes it would take some fine tuning and imagination from clubs with regards to training/picking squads on a weekly basis, but surely it was better than the status quo.

There was no vote but from the discussions last night the following Clubs were very vocally against it - Carrickmore, Tattyreagh, Loughmacrory, Clann na nGael, Glenelly, Trillick, Stewartstown, Castlederg etc.

I was hoping the changes would go through but as you can see both small and large Clubs were against it. 70% of the responses received by the CCC from Clubs were against change to the Reserve competition.

Outrageous decision last night regarding reserve football. As stated already, clubs had to look at this as a positive for Tyrone football not their club, unfortunately too many clubs can't/aren't prepared to do this. From a quick search of last years conceded reserves matches a few of the clubs listed above featured heavily, the others, although may not have conceded, were still affected by opposition conceding. The mind boggles as to how these teams think next season will play out. Dinosaurs!! What harm could it have done to try this for a year??

If proposals go through tonight no one will be relegated. The change to 4 divisions means no team will be relegated this year.

Incorrect, 2 would be relegated from Div 2 and 6 would be promoted from div 3 or they may opt to go with 1 relegated and 5 promoted but there will def be relegation.

Sorry but it's you that's  incorrect. Was stated numerous times at the meeting that there would be no relegation this year. Division 2 will be made up of bottom 8 teams in Division 2, JFC championship winners and top 3 in Junior. Division 3 will be made up of bottom 12 in Division 3 this year.
There may be a counter proposal tonight regarding this from a club but that is the proposal from CCC
The teams currently in Division 1 who end up in the new Division 1B will definitely view that as a relegation

Possibly so, although it will only be the bottom 4 in the league that will go to Division 1B.. 15 of next years Division 1 will still play senior championship in 2021.

From reading the presentation am I right in saying that the 2021 senior championship will basically be made up of 15 division 1 clubs from this year plus the intermediate championship winners? So only the bottom team in division 1 (unless they win the championship) will miss out on the 2021 senior championship?

Seems a bit unfair that the division 2 league winners don't get into senior championship for 2021.

Thats correct Redhand Santa. Again, clubs are free to make proposals so that may change tonight.

In my clubs situation the problem was a complete lack of knowing when reserve matches would be played. Think there was a 10 week gap last year for our reserves. You might get seniors to keep training for 10 weeks without a match but no chance with reserves. This system should eradicate this problem and I'd be confident that we will have far bigger numbers at reserve level this year. That alone will be a success

Fixture Schedule: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=97070611131769141530

I'm confused, on that fixture template all the reserve games are down for Saturdays (the odd Friday too) with senior fixtures scheduled for Sundays. Where did the Monday nights come from?

They have obviously changed it on the excel sheet since the meeting. I would guess it'll be on Friday nights.
