Hard luck indeed to the lads. Listened on Midlands 103 and goals obviously took the stuffing out of us. Like the Meath match we seemed to miss the goal chances when every chance needed to be taken. Hopefully division 2 football will stand to them and hopefully not as open in the backs.

Quick question, are Mark Barry and Sean O'Flynn available to play u20s Tuesday or is it once you play higher grade, can't go back down to 20s. It would be great for that bunch to make a Leinster final and get on a run.
Overall got back to Division 2, back to final 12, new additions blooded and hopefully we keep building. Onwards and upwards.
On a side note credit to Brian Hurley for Cork today. Through the ringer with 2 career threatening knee and hamstring injuries and did awful damage today and took his goals well. A fine footballer.

Huge positivism back in Cork football. In challenge games leading up to Munster final were playing well and brought that form into Munster Final. With getting Laois in draw their tails will be up. Ruairi Deane is probably one of the quickest centre forwards in country and not afraid to run directly at goal. Interesting to see if Laois drop a permanent sweeper in front of full back line to try counter act these runs. Collins Connolly Hurley will cause problems for full back line. Cork midfield competed well with Kerry so huge challenge ahead of Lillis and O'Loughlin- I think our midfield partnership performance has been consistently good this year and hopefully that will ring true again next weekend. Where we have a chance is if our forwards click. They have improved with each championship game-the Kingstons, Murphy and Carroll all capable of scoring heavily when on song. If they do there won't be too much between the sides come the final whistle.

Didn't laois play Cork in challenge before Westmeath match? At least they'd have some knowledge of Cork beforehand. Won't be much in the final score hopefully 👍🏻

Gonna be interesting. They should have two weeks to prepare though.

We don't though. In bonus territory now. Hopefully we'll give Dublin a good game. A good physical team who gave Galway pucks of it who are quite big themselves. If we halve our wide count from yesterday for the next day I can't see why we won't be realistically in with a shout. A big ask but Laois will relish the Dubs in O'Moore Park!

Great to see lads get their due rewards yesterday. Mark Kavanagh coming back from 2 ACL injuries and give a performance like that. Matthew Whelan giving great service over the years getting some reward. First touch this year some remarkable difference from last year. Getting the simple things right. If we get a few more aerial ball winners we'll be laughing. Gives whole of Laois hurling a lift and the whole county.

Whew! Good catch. Just in time. Thanks, Giovanni!

Hopefully keep it going. Another gear in Laois need to see Picky and Willie Dunphy get I to game. Purcell having great game so far!

Home draw ideal. The best scenario we could have hoped for. Will still be an obstacle to get over but should kick on from the Derry match! :)

Does anyone know when Ben Conroy is due to return?

Actually, it seems from LaoisToday that he's in contention for a place this weekend, which would be good going! However, Mark Kavanagh is out w/ a knee injury of his own. Quite a blow considering how good he's been this season.
Kavanagh is on crutches, given his history, I'd be very worried for him. Poor kid.

A right kick in the balls for Mark. Speedy recovery whatever the outcome of the injury is!

Well best of luck to Benny Stateside.  You only live once !!
Any predictions on a team lads ? Looks like Westmeath will go in as slight favourites.

If Laois play any way to their potential, particularly up front and cut down on wide count they're in with a great shout. Rightly so going in as underdogs with 2 consecutive losses against them however hoping they'll do the business. Nullify Ger Egan will be the big test from the last day in Croke Park.
We need to target their full back line early and hopefully rattle them! Should be the makings of a good game and decent crowd for double header.

Rashford looking set to be offered new contract with up to 300k per week.
Absolute madness from the get go. To be getting that wage after finishing 6th defies logic!
Thoughts?

Kompany leaving Man City also puts them in the look out for Harry Maguire most likely also. Hoping for as much a clear out of overpaid and bringing in bit of youth and build a team with a bit of heart again!

For sure, any win in the championship against Offaly is a good win! Some very good performances from the likes of Ryan Mullaney (who was superb) and Mark Kavanagh who has some skill levels.

Agree with Unlaoised about the poor shot selection at times. We could easily have been 8 points up at half time but for some poor shooting. If we could cut the misses in half, we'd be giving ourselves a good chance in most games.

I must say I found a few things odd. I thought the midfield didn't function all that well and when you have so many good forwards, I would have thought that Paddy Purcell and even Roddy would be better options there.

I also thought that the backs were left isolated one on one against bigger forwards too often. I would have thought that there could have been a bit more work done by the midfielders in that area. Eric Killeen did well when he came on back there.

Fantastic win first and foremost. Regardless  of state of Offaly hurling they still had to be beaten and good boost to win away from home. The diagonal ball inside the full forward line caused us a lot of problems. We were definitely the better side and great to see fitness levels and our first touch improving which Eddie has definitely brought improvement with.
Thought Offaly lucky to have 15 men on the field. Think it was the wing back who wildly swung in second half under the stand. Clumsy but wreckless on the same hand. We hassles and harried all through game and couldn't fault the work rate from the lads.
Antrim at home next hopefully can improve shot selection and tighten up at the back for next day. Offaly's 2nd and 3rd goal very soft ones to give away and hopefully we'll improve with games.

Herrera to leave at end of season. Will be a loss. One of the few who gave a sh*ite playing for the club!

I'd say Liverpool would be happier playing Spurs. And Spurs glad to be in a final!

If Liverpool lose to Spurs they will never live it down. Eternal shame ;D

Was your internet not working last night?
Researching the names of pubs in Liverpool.
Hope he enjoys watching Thursday night football next year in places like Kazakhstan....

Some turnaround in form from Tadic from not being good enough for Mark Hughes at Southampton. Regardless of result some player! It'll make for a great final. Hopefully Harry Kane gets back fully fit and make a good game of it!

Credit where due for Liverpool. Barcelona absolutely capitulated. That 4th goal brilliant instinct! Liverpool Ajax final surely..

Utterly embarrassing today. Too much to ask for to beat Huddersfield and keep a clean sheet. Completely out of any confidence levels and a lot not fit to wear the shirt. A rush to the door to get out of this mess for some of the players.
OGS needs to be ruthless in the summer doesn't matter with inexperience Stevie Wonder could tell you who to get rid of!  ???

Keep - Mata, McTominay, Lindelof, Shaw, Herrara.
Keep as squad players - Rashford, Lingard, Fred, Romero.

The rest - out.

I'd hope de gea would get back to the levels he was at last year. Doesn't justify what he's looking for at the moment. Mind you I would give Romero a chance last game of the season. Obviously it goes without saying others stealing a wage.
I agree it's not football manager mode. Getting an experienced director of football with a decent background would be as much a signing in itself.
