Yeah all stars solely based on semi final and final. Shane Walsh prime example last year. Ok up to the final then had a performance of the ages and got the all star and in the running for player of true year based on 1 game. Canavan has been exceptional. I think he can get even better still.
Not sure about this. There are plenty of examples of Quarter finalists getting all stars although they have to be exceptional. Im not sure Canavan has earned it yet, but maybe if he brings a similar performance to the QF even if tyrone bow out.

Id rather Roscommon win because they are a much smaller county and Cork have very poor football support

Ordinarily I'd agree.

But I found myself cheering on Dublin against Roscommon. And I've never cheered on Dublin in anything ever.

Truth is that Roacommon's relentless and extraordinary will to play anti-football is not getting them any closer to winning big games.

Should it do so, we'd be witness to another Jimmy McGuinness-style revolution of shite football.

So come on anyone but Ross.
I don't think it's much worse than Derry or Donegal, although Derry do always knock in goals

Contrary to popular belief Derry do take risks. Keeper regularly scored from play. As do the fullback line. Plenty of ball kicked in to shane and lads not afraid to shoot low percentage shots. I think we get a very bad name

Another win for Bellaghy last night against Ballinderry. Cassidy has them on the brink of a league title, not that the tones were ever bothered about leagues.

If the trend continues into the championship - will it be case of their manager being coveted by others, possibly even in his old role as Derry manager?

Is this the same league table that Coleraine are winning, Steelstown are 3rd and kilrea are ahead of Swatragh and lavey?
No. I wouldnt put any stock into that.

Is a rest weekend good or bad for Derry?
The positives are obvious but i think you could make the argument that Derry could come out a little stale.
Clare werent a proper test. So Derry will go into this QF (against a decent opponent) having not played a proper Championship game since Donegal in almost a month.
Thoughts?

Nationalists outpolled Unionists by a not insignificant margin at the last election.  Unionists will never outpoll Nationalists at any election ever again, including the Unity Referendum, no matter how quickly it happens.

Also, the census results are already 2 years out of date, and the gap will have increased since then.

Wouldnt be so sure about this. Its one thing to sing sean south from garryowen. But we will soon find out how many real Nationalists there are if there is a referendum.
I personally would support a united Ireland but I dont think im in the majority - even amongst some of my "nationalist" peers. I think we are quite a bit away from it yet.
But if the DUP keep doing what theyre doing working as hard as they are: we will have a United Ireland in no time!

Derry should feel quite hard done by, Monaghan's last game about a month a go was a loss to Derry so they had a whole month to analysis a loss and then turns out their next game is against that very same team, Monaghan were in a much better position going into this game than Derry.

You guys should be proud to come away with a draw, in the wider scale of things the result probably wont matter both teams will go through.

But as a neutral just thought i should point this out so you guys don't get too doom and gloom

I agree. Now I was still expecting a win in light of the way we dismissed them previously but I was certainly expecting Monaghan to learn a lot not only about themselves but about Derry. All that matters now is bulldozing through these other two and stepping into an AI QF

Loughmacrory going well in the senior league, an O'Neill cup beckons in the near future.
Welcome to the board Ciaran, although should your focus not be on Derrys next game vs Donegal?

Derry haven't won a game since he took over.

Just the small matter of an Ulster final.

They didn't win the fixture - it was a draw - they where awarded the cup based on a rule to prevent replays!

Yeah. Argentina didn't actual win the world cup either. FIFA just didn't want the hassle of a replay so they awarded them the cup.

Armagh lost the game as these days it's decided on the day, just like Galway beat you the same way, Penalties ain't a new game as you say.
Yes lost a penalty shoot out & therefore a Cup in this instance. I'm sure Derry will take a great deal from winning the Cup. Armagh should take solace from playing badly & still getting a draw and not dwell on the negatives.
Hahahaha fella you're delusional.

What a shower! You can guarantee he wouldn't act the hard man away from his home ground!
was this match not in Carryduff? A couple of years ago when a kilcoo man got assaulted by a clonduff player everyone was saying "what happens on the field should stay on the field " would like to see full video of the game! Heard from a neutral there was alot of stuff done of the ball on both teams especially duff no9 and no8! 🤷

No, I would think that if someone struck you on or off the pitch, they should go to the police, but this happens on every pitch and needs to be eliminated from our game.

Agreed. There are tit-for-tat situations that can be left on the pitch but assault is assault. And there are players/clubs that are using gaelic football as a shield to carry out acts of violence. I can tolerate when two lads get into a scrap with each other and share a few blows but what Branigan did was blatant assault in the most cowardly fashion.

It's a shame how often these kilcoo boys let themselves and their club down. Such a great club with an incredibly talented group of players but when incidents like this keep on cropping up. Whether it's sledging opponents or off the ball dirty antics at some point we have to question the culture that this club is promoting.

Its an interesting idea. But if im ORourke im not sure if i would leave Glen.
1. Where does he have a better chance of winning an All Ireland?
2. Can Derry afford to pay him as much as Glen?  ;)

Watching this half of extra time back four things jumped out at me.

1. Campbel lwas inspirational
2. Toner has the most unconventional freekick routine
3. Paul Cassidy had no business shooting from over his head with a minute left up by a point
4. Derry should have been fouling the Armagh men much sooner or their last attack

Cant to say either team deserved to win because really neither team deserved to lose.

Ah here, Campbell getting "shoved in the back" stretches the limits of credulity. He was lightly tackled from either side. You could maybe just about find a foul with it if you tried hard enough but he certainly went down easily. Lynch was definitely shouldered inside the box for the 45 but then should have been done for over carrying before the throw ball.

The trip on McGuigan I didn't think was that big a deal to be honest. Looked as if his hand more brushed against his leg in an attempt to trip. Certainly didn't have a good grip of him or clobber his leg a la Peter Stringer. Morgan still being on McGuigan at that stage possibly the biggest indictment of Armagh management on the day.

11 min 55 seconds. Clear 2 hands in his back

12:27 Murray touches his back. No pressure at all but this is this is a foul by the book. Campbell went down awful easy (as any man would). Its frustrating but have to agree with Gough who I thought was very good yesterday
