Anyway....

Are the Quarter Finals all as straightforward as expected?

Coalisland/Errigal/Trillick/Carmen to be the last four with everyone hoping to get Carrickmore?

Omagh and Edendork most likely to catch Errigal / Carmen on the hop?

That's how I see it too. Although, there's usually at least one upset per round.

I do think we will overcome Edendork in a tight dogged affair but I would fear a timbering in the semi.  The team is in transition and will take a few years to compete with the stronger teams .

Good win for our minors last night against a strong omagh team. Went down to 14 men in the first half but held on for a 1 point victory. On a side note - Dromore facilities second to none great floodlit surface for football and surprised they dont get championship games like Fintona and stewartstown are getting. Crowd control possibly a factor in this

It was great to win another underage title but I can say from watching a lot of minor football this year this was not a strong Omagh team.  Their forwards are poor Imo.  Although the sending off restricted us I expected us to win the game more comfortably. Thought we were too defensive and should have attacked Omagh more especially in the second half by giving in the long direct balls into our full forward line.

Errigal dispatching trillick handy in the league by the looks of it - put the shoulder to the wheel and turned the screw it would seem. Could be a sign of things to come if they meet in the championship????
Don't think so.  Championship a different ball game plus I would say both teams would have been missing quite a few automatic starters yesterday.

Intense game last night between Lough and Pomeroy - youd be sick you were a Loughmacrory man, be a hard one to take. Galbally look a cut above. Good win for Derrylaughan, a needed one too. Tattyreagh as good as gone, preseason already started for next year i hear. Whos everyone fancy for the Pomeroy vs Loughmacrory replay?
Would depend on who got the cards.. any suspensions?

Mickey Mills got straight red and is def gone. I'm almost certain HP got straight red too. He gave the umpire a friendly finger gesture going off the field too so might get a bit more for that. Frank Burns got double yellow so he'll be free
Good to see our u20 stars name isn't being mentioned today, he must've had a quiet night and proved a lot of critics wrong
Grimes was impressive and did a fantastic job on McGeary. I would say he is a cert for a call up to the senior panel for the McKenna cup.
In saying that, he could've undone all his good work had he received a second yellow for kicking out in the Frank Burns second yellow incident.

I know everything can of day but I was very disappointed with Grimes against Beragh.  Lost the ball in possession over an over again.

How many points did Beragh score from play? I would guess 3points and the 2nd goal came from a penalty.

Only giving my opinion but could you name some of these players, that should be starting Tyrone that are not on the squad?

Stephen McNally
Sean McNabb
Connor Odonnell
Lee Brennan
Conn Kilpatrick

just a few there

I'd have to agree with DE here.

John Harkin
Eoghan Murray
Michael O'Neill
Emmet McNabb

Above players will all be in with a chance of a McKenna Cup call up for next year in my opinion.

Emmet would need to leave his wing mirrors behind him if he is to step up to county level.

Carrickmore brilliant yesterday. All over the field they were on top. Makes for a potentially great game v Edendork. Penrose, who was outstanding, and Daly won't get that space inside again, so will be interesting to see how they cope with that. But the signs yesterday were very good. The young boys played well to, Murray be a big loss next day out though.
Dissapointed with Derrylaughan, offered very little resistance and left their full back line out to dry. Kennedy very very poor in the middle, no driving forward from him and no shift going the other way.

Best Carrickmore Performance i have seen in a number of years but wont be getting carried away as i question the quality of the opposition.  Derrylaughan were very poor although i do disagree with the poster in saying Kennedy was very poor.  He was the only man that put up a fight and stopped 2 goal scoring chances by chasing back in the first half.  Only so much one man can do.  Thought the sending offs were harsh espically Tiernan Murrays,  the lad was only trying to make his way up the field and was being held and harassed by the Derrylauglan No 6.  The No 6 already warned by the ref for the same behaviour a few minute earlier.

The match up will be
McNamee on Clifford
O'Brien - R Brennan
HP McGeary on Geaney

Hopefully Cavanagh will mark Moran but I fear it will be Kennedy who shouldn't be anywhere near it.
Don't think Hampsey will play - clearly injured and was hobbling about withan ice pack when taken off last week. Will prob be a sub with 20 to go.

In my opinion our best option for Clifford would be Aidan McCrory as he will never worry about attacking and will focus solely on there main threat. Stop him we stop them

That time has come and gone unfortunately as mcnally is in his 30s now.  If his club jersey had have had a bit more yellow and more white than blue he would have got the same chances aidan McCrory got.

I'd hazard a guess there aren't many posters on this forum would take aidan McCrory over mackers to play for their club team in their upcoming championship campaigns.

Local expert I said mc nally would be worth a punt but unfortunately hes a bit like yourself having a chip on your shoulder with a errigal man in charge of the team.

Aidan mc crory warranted his opportunity to be involved in tyrone setup over past 8 or 9 years as at club level he is whether you like it or not in you top 10 consistent club defenders. Alot of people could say local expert Brendan early wasnt in top 3 defenders in brackaville or big mc Gahan was  4th best forward in killyman. But they did ok for coalisland.

Are you serious?  Does being consistent warrant a county call up?  County footballers are the elite players within your county not the consistent ones.  Down the years we had a few of the top 10 consistent club players who never got call ups and to be honest i dont think they were county level.

I could see Benny Gallen starting tomorrow for sure. Maybe give Aidy McCrory a final run out as well.

There is absolutely not doubt aidan McCrory will play tomorrow and unless he retires he'll still be there next year as well!

I hate the way a loyal servant like McRory gets such a hard time on here. I wouldn't start him but he's a good man to have about the panel. If all the players had his attitude we'd be a lot better of and wouldn't have boys walking off panels mid season.

He didn't look out of his depth yesterday and did fairly well. Worked hard got forward to set up scoring chances on a few occasions and still got back and stuck in at the back.

The man is dirt.  Shouldnt be there.  Plenty of better players around the county never got the chances that man got.

There's been worse players on the panel than McCrory over the past few years.

Name them?  The man could barely give a 20 yard kick pass.

Another game lost along the line. Paul Devlin is clueless.  Just putting it out there.

Wonder who'll cover the damage to cars then outside McAleers last night.

U-20s? What went on?

Videos going round of 3 or 4 on top of some young girls car jumping up and down. From what I hear they kicked a few goals, points and wingmirrors yesturday.

Good PR.

Just seen this video.  Disgraceful scenes.  How these lads think this acceptable is beyond me!  If Paul Devlin punished lads (except for a certain Mr Canavan) for going out on a Monday night before a game at the weekend by removing them from the match day panel then surely he has to deal with these lads more severely.

Is that true? That's a dangerous road to be going down if you are a coach!

Have not seen the video but heard its pretty poor viewing. Some of these lads (and that includes in the senior panel) would need to cop themselves on. That kind of behaviour is out of line in any circumstance but do these guys not realise that everything they do is going to end up being videoed. (My thoughts on the morons who feel that everything that happens anywhere has to be recorded and posted on social media is  a separate rant!).

I was informed of that by a lad on the panel who lost his sub jersey because he went out.  I have no problems with lads being punished for breaking rules set by the panel/management but it has to consistent.  You punish all the rule breakers the same or none at all.

Brilliant performance today from Carmen against an Omagh side who were second best on every level today. I must be honest I had my doubts going in to the game given the opposition but we were certainly the hungrier and fitter of the 2 teams. Young Sean Donnelly at no6 had a great game with Penrose and Gormley dynamite in the full forward line (yes that's right) I think omagh has to change markers on penrose 3 different times in the game with McLaughlin eventually finishing on him and was taken for about 0-3 I would say. Hopefully onwards and upwards for this young team and this will certainly be a confidence booster that we can compete at the highest level still!!

I am lot happier today having eventually getting off the mark as i was starting to fret a little.  Getting 2 points of Omagh is also a bonus as it was one of the games i wasnt counting on on getting points.  Really impressed with Sean yesterday also.  A very intelligent footballer who was directing things from Centre half back.  Looks a great prospect.  Great to see Sparky back at it also.  Added a bit more bite to attack when he came on.

Is the reliance on Gormley, Penrose and Donnelly not a big part of the problems currently with Carrickmore?

Nope, its the fact as i stated before that we have very little quality from the mid 20s to 30 bracket.  Any we may have had are  living abroad at the minute.  I think the boys you mentioned above would quite happily retire if we had other players to step up to the plate and fill their boots.
