Spirit Are you sure hes a club mate?  The programme for the sigerson has him listed as a Ballyhegan man.  Is everyone leaving the Harps these days?

On a serious note I though himself, Kevin McGourty and Gerard O'Kane had very good games.  Queens should have been even more comfortable though.

Also glad to see the ref send off the Cork Number 5, too many refs only book for striking

GAA Discussion / Re: McKenna Cup 2007 Champions Tyrone
February 21, 2007, 10:04:41 AM
"We're losing sight of something here. The McKenna Cup is an intercounty competition. The colleges are visitors and visitors don't dictate the rules."

I completely agree with MH here the colleges dont make the rules, but then again neither do the countys or their managers.  It's up to the provinical associations.  If the rules arent codified enough then Tyrone should receive no punishment, however if the rules are clear enough then they should recieve the same penalty that clubs and countys who have not had the success of Tyrone would recieve.  Failure to do this will result in future problems for the association.

Can we just end the league now as its possibly the only time I will ever see Annaghmore top of division 2.  On a serious note what are your guys predictions for who will go up and down this year?

GAA Discussion / Help Needed About County Crests
February 20, 2007, 09:31:35 AM
Does anyone know where I could get information on why a number of county boards changed their crests a few years ago?  I remember Armagh doing it and someone saying it was to do with the city council, anyone any more info?

I wouldnt agree with you their PHP I thought Cross were fully deserving of their win and could have won by a few more scores.  I actually thought that at times the referee kept St Brigids in the game.  I was the far end of the pitch though and couldnt see the goal.

When was the Amragh v Sligo 2003 game I dont remember it.  I do remember the one in 2002 being quite good

Apart from the fact it was Meath I liked their home jersey from a few years ago.  Also liked the 1999 Armagh jersey if only they could have gotten rid of that rectangle around the sponsors name.  Was on holiday wearing it one day and a local asked me where they could get their motor oil thinking I was working in the shop and was advertising Morgan fuels

I would imagine they wouldnt be back till after the seigerson which would make this weeks game against Kildare very difficult.  I might be wrong mind

Im not sure about this Armagh are too old thing.  Last years Armagh team I remember reading had an average age three months younger that the 2002 all ireland winning team, but I would think the lack of scoring forwards might hurt us.

That being said I am going to make the same cop out predicition I made last year.  The team to eliminate Armagh will win Sam this year.
