General discussion / 1st day at school
September 04, 2007, 01:38:49 PM
Left my little girl at school today for her 1st day. Very emotional they are beginning to make their steps in the big bad world out there. How did the rest of ye like school, the only thing i missed were the auld football matches every lunchtime you would have great games and after  school you would play football till the cows came home. Different days then parents didn't have to worry about leaving their children out till all hours they knew they were safe now you afraid to let them out of your sight.

You're taking the piss on this thread !

i was taking the piss about selling croke park, but something needs to be done about developing other grounds around the provinces so that they can hold crowds of 40 to 50 thousand.I know its every players dream to play in croke park but the place needs to be nealry full to generate a real athmosphere, look at thurles for the hurling the athmosphere is unreal i'm sure the hurlers would rather play there that in croke park with a crowd of 35 to 40 thousand

Not trying to start anything here but
We have Croker, Navan in Leinster
Gaelic Grounds ,Thurles in Munster
Casement , Clones in Ulster
Tuam Stadium, McHale Park in Connacht

Where is the need for more white elephants , The Gaelic grounds has never been sold out as far as i know
Ye  there  are "stadiums" there but develope them, make the stadiums all seated not the f**king concrete seats that freeze the hole of ya ,real f**king seats where you pay your €20 and can sit down and actually enjoy a match. For e.g if Donegal were to meet Galway in a semi or Quarter final instead of dragging everyone up to dublin you could have the match in Catlebar for e.g .Its not like the gaa are not making the money

I love the "triumpalist" talk of "silencing the hill" on these threads.
In fairness what set of fans wouldnt be quiet at moments like that?

For a combination of timing, occasion and pressure I'd have to give credit to Cian Ward this year.
Some kick.

only a bit of craic HH :)

with the week thats in it just wondering what are the other posters favourites scores against the dubs, mine in no particular order are

1) Ciaran Mac's point in the 2006 AI semi to win the match, what a score oh the memories
2) Maurice Fitz's wonderscore in the 2001 Qualifers
3) Mugsy's goal in the 2005 AI Qualifer

Question is who will silence the hill this sunday ;)

just wondering should the gaa sell croke park to the fai and then build a new stadium in Athlone, it would be afull handy for all us culchies to get to the matches jesus even the Kerry and Cork boyos might get off their arses and go to a semi final.Nothing would give me more satisfaction than to see 75000 Jackeens in Athlone following their team.

Rats

Rats are almost universally despised in the modern world. Their reputation as disease-laden scavengers seems to precede them wherever they go. Some people own rats as pets and will, of course, perceive them differently.

For most people, dreams of rats reveal concerns of becoming destitute scavengers themselves-friendless and outcast. Another potential scenario is that the dreamer feels his or her social security is being gnawed away. In contrast to theft, when all is quickly and dramatically taken, the rats gradually erode their environment.

In your waking life, do you view rats as potential pets or potential predators?

In your dream, are the rats a serious threat to your health or possessions, or are they merely an uncomfortable presence?

I can't stand the sight of rats and in the dream they are a serious threat, funny thing is i never remembered dreams before ??? ???
