If Meath had any dignity they would retire from the Championship, and give the trophy to Louth.

There should be no replay, Louth should be awarded the trophy.

But of course Meath have none, bunch of low lifes in that county. The likes of Colm O'Rourke will be on the Sunday Game tonight spreading propaganda.

There are some clowns writing on this board. Meath didnt give the decision it was the umpires and ref. How any one can call meath cheats and claim they have no dignity is beyond me.
First Sligonian defends those thugs, i wouldnt call them Louth fans probably Dundalk ultras and now you blame Meath.
Meath have a great tradition and canniot be blamed for this apart from being involved in play and playing to the whistle

53 YRS OF HURT is what caused those grown men to go mental. I certainly dont blame them, them umpires and sludden should be banned from GAA, cheating shower of c*nts. They all saw it especially the 2 umpires.

Stupid statement no matter what the ref did it was human error he didnt deserve those thugs running at him.
There is no excuse for that on an official.
The Garda will hopefully hopefully bring charges on these men plenty of tv coverage of them.
I seen a steward lying down must have got a dig from some thug also.
Only a fool would condone such behaviour

Louth were robbed, how did the 2 umpires not see that.
louth did have chances to win it though bad shooting.
Those scumbags from louth that attacked the ref should get locked up, no call for that in GAA, a disgrace, fence those animals in.
Grown men should know better.
An injustice robbed the wee county of glory
the GAA should hang their heads in shame.
Meath wont have wanted to win a leinster title that way.
Call for  a replay.
A great entertaining game destroyed

surely Armagh if they get past Fermanagh wont have to face another Ulster side.
As a Down man i would prefer to face any of the Leinster sides left and preferably in Newry, or croke park.

Nuddie Hughes on Rte said it was not a penalty, a fair shoulder charge.
Fair play to Longford they could have give up after that bad decision by the ref put Down in control, but their great spirit and determination kept them going.
a horrible night for football, any word on the attendance, if stand was full must have at least beent 4,500 at it. £18 into the stand was a bit much. no wonder the attendances are poor this year.

hoping for athe Dubs in Newry.

at the end of the day lads its an amateur sport and the players cant be expected to devout more than half their year for a club and miss out on living.
Cant blame them for wanting to head off and have a bit of craic,
They obviously cant take the p.iss either and not turn up for games whenever they want. I thought all northern counties took these 2 weeks off for the annual builders holidays anyway. They still do in Down i think, even if there are no more builders.
The county board need to be sympathetic and maybe work around a calender that leaves big events like this free, as they know a lot of the younger fellas will head of on it.
They cant devote their life to the GAA and not live it at the same time.

some of you guys expect 100% loyalty to a club at all times yet im sure you have never given 100% loyalty.

We up in Down would love a crack at ye. After all we always beat Kerry easily in Championship football.
But we would nt care who we got if we made a quarter final. ;D

Newry Train station is in Bessbrook, its miles from the marshes.
I think though there is a bus meets the trains and takes people into the town. Otherwise its a taxi.
Maybe ring the station and find out.
Its a long old walk.

firstly congrats to our Fellow Gaels from Longford on a great weekend for them. Best of luck in the Leinster minor final,

I guess the seniors will be on a crest of a wave now when you sail into the marshes on saturday noght. Down will need to get at it from the start.

Taken from the hoganstand:

Meath's demolition of Dublin in Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final attracted more TV viewers than England's World Cup clash with Germany.

TV3 has revealed that 528,000 watched their coverage of Meath's 5-9 to 0-13 victory over their old rivals. By comparison, 400,000 watched Germany's 4-1 rout of England in Bloemfontein on RTE.

Meanwhile, rugby commentator Ryle Nugent has been appointed RTE group head of sport with immediate effect. Nugent succeeds Glen Killane, who was recently appointed managing director of RTE television.

Interesting given the huge hype behind the world cup and the media obsession with it.

No suprise it went to a rugby man. D4 press always lead with Rugby it gets number 1 billing ahead of everything else. Even though Gaelic football is the countries number 1 sport the egg chasers if playing always get the nod.
Sickening, sooner they go back to their mediocrity the better.

And another thing while im on my Rugby rant. One of the best GAA schools in the country St Colmans Newry current Hogan Cup holders  now allow Rugby, in my day they wouldntr even allow hurling.
Wheres the skill in holding a ball running with it or hoping on top of some lad.

Ok some football talk.
Down beat Rossies in a friendly match in Clones on wednesday. Big Dan was in the middle and Ambrose was in half back. Marty Clarke was poor again. Although he played well for An Riocht in the middle last night against Kilcoo.
