Paul Brogan second card for nothing.

Kildare penalty after tomas o connor falls over.

1-7 to 0-5 after 49 min.

Kildare to push on to win with ease from here. Some of the Dublin players clearly enjoyed their celebrations over the autumn/winter.

Seanie Johnston can't move to his address in Straffan soon enough. (That's if he can find it)

Kildare far fitter but their finishing has been dreadful. Some shocking wides. It's like watching the comedy channel not TG4.

3 points apiece after 30 minutes.

Deserved 2nd yellow/red card for Kildare no 7. Only seemed interested in hitting dublin players. Serious chip on his shoulder. Some of the Kildare lads only interested in playing the man. If they get the ball it's a bonus

If this transfer goes through just because johnston aledgedly "has an address in Kildare" it will be open season for all the big counties to tap up players from the weaker counties.

If this is approved what is to stop McGeeney's tapping up more players not playing for their county this year eg. Kevin Cassidy & offering him a house for the summer if he will play for Kildare

Kildare 0-17 Offaly 0-04

Little in the way of entertainment in Newbridge. Offaly were a bit of a shambles and failed to register a single score in the first half with the breeze. Kildare were very wasteful though and for the second week in a row they didn't really kick on in the second half. Had some of the players brought the shooting boots it could have been a lot more embarrasing for Offaly. Roli had a very good game for the second week in a row and Smith looked a lot sharper. Strong team out again with little in the way of experimentation. It seems daft to be saying this about an O'Byrne Cup match but next weekend is an important game for Kildare. Dublin have something of a psychological edge over this particular Kildare team (just like Dwyer's team in the early nineties) and Kildare really need to start believing that they can beat them.

Kildare lined out as follows - Shane Connolly, Peter Kelly, Ciarán Fitzpatrick, Ollie Lyons, Brian Flanagan (Morgan O'Flaherty), Tommy O'Neill, Eoghan O'Flaherty (Hugh McGrillen), Daryl Flynn (Conor Brophy), Ronan Sweeney, Tommy Moolick, Mikey Conway, Karl Ennis (Rob Kelly), James Kavanagh, Tomás O'Connor (Paddy Dunne), Alan Smith

Scorers - Scorers: Kavanagh (0-4), Sweeney (0-3), Smith (0-3), E O'Flaherty (0-3) (2fs), Conway (0-2) (1f), Moolick (0-1), M O'Flaherty (0-1)

Whatever about Dubs being their bogey team, they need to beat one of the big teams & win a major trophy this year to even try to justify the ridiculous training costs McGeeney has cost the county board over the last few years.

Kildare county board seem to be taking the FF approach to budgeting. Be all grand & Charlie won't have any problem getting people to cough up 1K to cover our costs.

Fianna Fail would be proud

Anyone who can call that a square ball from that angle must have some  depth perception skills. Maybe a free out, but that isn't what the ref gave.

The ref was out of his depth & had a shocker. You would have to question how these guys are appointed with so little experience.

Should never have played the game in brigid's ground either. Totally unsuitable for the game. Neutral venues for provincial finals should be a given.

Have seen a few comments on here now referring to the Dublin fans on Sunday? What happened?
I know there is a rough element to the Dubs "hill/soccer" contingent but what happened on Sunday?
Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Booed donegal when they kicked a free kick backwards & when they started going from side to side and/or backwards constantly handpassing instead of god forbid trying to go forward & score.

They did boo donegal freetakers (donegal fans did same for dubs players) & seeing as donegal PLAYERS were roaring abuse at dubs players taking frees I don't see how people can complain

Have you even looked at the incident? There is a clear "push / strike / punch" to the face.

Harmless admittedly but its a red card offence.

I have seen it & I can tell you he never touched his face. Shoulder yes, face no.

It can't be that clear if you can't decide beteween shove/strike/punch & admit it was harmless. Boyle's playacting far more disgraceful

Bernard Brogan got MOTM on the sunday game  :o when a game ends 8-6 one of the defenders deserves that award.

When one team has 14 defenders you would expect low scoring game. Brogan played a part in nearly all dublin's scores, well deserved.

Academy award goes to Boyle for his dive :-[

If a cork player received a red card for that Davis would go mental, what a joke
#1884
That Donegal player who took a dive to have Connolly sent off was a disgrace. If a premier league footballer did that he would get dogs abuse.

That performance by Donegal was the most cynical display I have senn by any football/hurling team in 15 years going to matches. One forward for the whole game & constant dives to delay the game.

Would have been a disgrace if those tactics would have taken them to an all ireland final

Kilkenny were meant to be at home on Saturday. 5 of the team were playing rugby in gorey on Saturday so game was switched to Gorey.

The rugby pitch is right beside the football pitch. The 5 lads played the rugby then hopped over the fence to line out for the footballers!

Just watched game again and after reading posts about Daniel Mc Cartan getting booked maybe i am wrong but the ref never warned him about shirt pulling before his booking also the ref wasnt told by his umpire about it so as to issue the card . In my opinon Bernard Brogan was hollding on to Daniels shorts maybe if he had of consulted with the umpire he would of seen this

I was on the hill. Umpire spoke to the ref, who in turn warned McCartan. He can have no complaints
#1887
The reason Dan McCartan got booked is because from the minute he came on he decided he wanted Bernard Brogan's shirt & refused to let go. Was warned by the referee to cut it out, but kept it up & was booked by the ref.

Thought the amount of handpassing by Down was ridiculous. On a wet night like that made no sense.

From dubs point of view an inexperienced back line performed well & Alan Brogan coming into form for the championship

Both sides shocking defensively. Sheridan scores again from a square ball. Anybody's game.

Up the Dubs, HA HA. Just reminded of some Tyrone players previous gestures to the Dublin supporters. Reap what you sow.

Indeed. Mulligan,Ricey & Pascal amongst others didn't give their usual "waves" to the hill yesterday.

It's a tarnished title. Be naive to describe it as anything else.

The Meath CB didn't do the team any favours though. They should have made the decision for a replay or not but bottled it & I would say they expectedthe Meath team to agree to it.
However that was the 1st Leinster title for most of those players so can see why they said no.

Finally it's funny to think how Joe be telling his kids/grand kids how he scored the winning goal/try in a Leinster Final in Croke Park.
