Thats a very strange decision that denied K/C a win over Claregalway, saw the video on facebook last night. The ref gave a hop ball when he thought Shane Walsh had taken too long over a 45 that was to win the game.

Look at what Michael o'Neill is doing with the North, it's light and day. The times we've actually gone out to play, like NI do all the time, we've looked good and done well, even against bigger teams.
I think that's the main problem, we just sit back and it's Ineffective and brutal to watch

He's massively over achieving with the players he has up there.

Given the squad Ireland have qualifying for every other tournament would be about right.

Whats the deal with the play offs if Ireland win tonight and beat Wales, are they seeded or is it an open draw?

The lack of English born players in the premier league has had a knock on affect for Ireland, there's players in that England squad like Cahill, Keane & Redmond who would have played for Ireland 20 years ago but with the lack of English players in the league anyone who has a half decent run gets a chance for England.

Has the London final ever been covered? Or ever likely to be?

Irish tv shown it a couple of years ago before they went up.

Whats the name of those 2 clubs in Laois that split about 20 years ago? There's a thread on here somewhere about it, there's a lot of hatred from memory.

Fellaini is having a big impact but I doubt we'll see a midfield 2 of Matic & Fellaini for the Liverpool & Spurs game, would imagine Herrera will play in both games. Fellaini will certainly benefit from Young's inclusion in the team, 2 assists from him in the last week.

Its a tough October for United, given City's easier games we'll need 4 point from those games to still be in touch of them.

Another great result for City although for completely dominating the match they didn't create much. Chelsea were shocking, midweek game took a lot out of them and they could barely put 2 passes together when under no pressure.

Stretching hamstring tear always more serious than the usual sprinting type.
If he's ruptured one of the hamstring insertional tendons at the back of his knee....he will indeed by on the long term injury list. Months

Media seem to think late November which would mean him about 12 weeks out, does that seem about right?

one that was created by accident with Tom Mannion getting another hole opened at corner back in Tuam Vs Roscommon, was brought out to centre half in the qualifiers and rest is history.

one of the most underrated footballers outside of Galway
Very true Orchard.  He was excellent though at corner back on Martin Lynch in the '98 final - totally dominated him.  Himself and Ja were huge losses by the time we got to Sept football in 2000.

Plus Kevin Walsh not fully fit, Galway were a better team during that period and its shame that Galway were nowhere near full strength during the final and the replay. I often wonder whether if they'd won it in 2000 if they'd have back the next year to beat Meath.

Mendy is a huge loss, think it will have a huge impact.

As for Aguero I have no idea how City let him fly to Amsterdam for a concert on a Thursday night when they've such a big game away on Saturday evening. I think Mendy will be a bigger loss, they've a great replacement for Aguero in Jesus but Delph or Danilo are hardly top class left backs.

I played several times on Ray Silks in college and challenge games would call him cocky and opinionated and one of the more moderate all Ireland winners but never once could I accuse him of sledging.............

That was a fair shite half back line only redeemed by the underrated Sean og

By 2001 it was a great half back line of Declan Meehan, Mannion, & Sean Og

I see Cillian McDaid is out in Australia on trial along with Stefan Okunbor. It will be a huge blow for Galway if McDaid gets a club although not a surprise as this is about the 4th or 5th time he's travelled overseas to be part of a trial.

My initial thought is he is a bit on the small side for AFL. They usually like them a bit bigger even though he would have the pace and athleticism alright. Been to a few trials though so he's obviously mad keen to go if he gets a chance.

I thought that but remember one of the Galway posters who knows a bit more about the ARL then I do stating his height wasn't an issue. Good luck to him but would be a loss to Galway as he's easily one of the most talented players come out of the underage in recent years.

Great result and a good performance, looks like the gap between the top English clubs and the top teams has closed. United, City, Spurs & Chelsea are all capable of going to the last 4 or even further dependent on the luck of the draw. This years competition could be on of the best as there's a lot more teams on a similar level. Mourinho will be looking to that final CL fixture in the hope that United have qualified as group winners as its between Arsenal away and City at home.

Hopefully some of those injuries clear up over the international break and the return of Zlatan won't be that far away too.
