They say Cora Staunton is the outstanding player in the ladies game, but realistically would she hold her own at decent club level against the men even?
Physical battles aside

ya id say she probably would. down in mayo she has a reputation as being a very tough competitor and we can all see on TG4 her scoring exploits. she might be caught for speed tho.

wouldnt bother going. when mayo ladies were winning all-irelands for fun i wasnt going either. dunno if its my lack of interest or lack of promotion/advertising from the gaa.

the games are slow and uninteresting. having said that stick cora staunton on a pitch in any part of the country and id say she would give most chb's a game of it.

sign up cora staunton for the mens team. savage scores from out the field. she could replace Big MC!

congratulations to the team. well deserved.

tyrone dreamer

ya this sounds like a reasonable idea. it would balance out the championship. would make the connaught/munster route to the all-ireland a bit longer but no harm in that!

what would you call the 4 new 'provinces'?

conferance - no way.
division - wouldnt be supported - implies league and people dont like that!

would guarantee a decent number of games for everyone and still retain, to an extent, the whole tribal warfare of the current provinces.

if the champo were to be changed its probably the only reasonable change that could be made to the existing structure. having said that, i would leave things alone, i like the way things work now! but good idea none the less.

colm mc menamen as a young man circa 1996. a tank of a man at the time would go through you for a shortcut, pity e couldnt kick the ball straight tho!

he came on in a junior match last year for burrishoole in the knockout stage of the championship. they were losing. he got the biggest cheer of the day and nearly won them the game through ruffing it up a bit round the middle. not bad for an ould fella!
