Couple give away lottery millions

A Canadian couple have given away most of their 6.9 million pound lottery winnings
A Canadian couple who won £6.9 million on the lottery and gave away 98% of it said that they are just plain country folks who do not need more than they have.

Allen and Violet Large said they won their fortune in a July 14 Lotto 649 draw and decided to save 2% for a rainy day and give away the rest.

After taking care of their family, they donated some £6.5 million to churches, fire departments, cemeteries and the Red Cross in Lower Truro, Nova Scotia, as well as hospitals where Mrs Large, who has cancer, has undergone treatment.

Mr Large, 75, said that, after retiring from a 30-year career as a welder, he and his wife were happy with what they had and the way their lives were going.

He said their phone has been ringing non-stop since news about their philanthropy spread to international media after a local paper covered their story this week.

On another note, how much and safe is wine to drink? I recently cut down on it. I was drinking a bottle of wine plus a night but now I just drink a bottle on Mons, Weds, Fris and Sats and some Suns. I don't believe in any of the governement guidelines crap as I see drunks in Belfast City Centre every day and they're still drinking well into their 50s, solid.

I recently heard of a boy who drank every day for years, stopped and then died 2 weeks later because his body didn't like just blood and water running through it. His body had evolved into perceiving alcohol as normal.

Drink all you can....life is too short, although I hope you have quit smoking

Just want to say paddy heaneys sly comment about ballinderry in the irish news today pissed me of i agree with everything phil stewart had to say about crossmaglen in todays paper what they got of with on sunday was an absoulute disgrace nothing short of thuggery. In the 08 ulster club final against us it was the same old thuggery in the 06 final there favourite old son that we f..k joe mcquillan gave cross every thing under the son its no suprise by the way to see him getting big games involving cross you know theres only going to be 1 winner when that tubes involved. Now back to 08 in the replay good old brian crowe the fat man also from cavan any1 noticing the trend?  joe kernans big buddy mr crowe, good old francie bellew who by the way theres not football in drives his elbow into brian mcguckins face in front of the we brown telly tubbys own eyes yet he accuses mcguckin of diving f..cking joke, number 2 tony mcentee puts his elbow in james conways face tellytubby again does f..k all and number 3 paul mckeown nearly breaks collie devlins back tellytubby again ignores. I for 1 dont fall into the cross hype ok theyve won what they have won but referees linesmen and umpires give them sum protection what they get away with is criminal i for 1 hope some good honest team beats them for the good of football that intimidation has to stop. sorry for the rant folks but hada get that of my chess.

You aren't related to Paddy Kielty by any chance :D

Obama inherited an economy in decline, two wars and I think he and his advisors were naive to think they had a"magic wand" to turn things around.......as for what happens now....I don't think the results will allow for any real change.
I don't see any outstanding candidate to lead the country out of this quagmire. As of October 10, 2010, the "Total Public Debt Outstanding" was approximately 94% of annual GDP, ($13.616 Trillion).

10-year-old gives birth to baby
A girl of 10 has had a baby in southern Spain, officials have said

Social workers are deciding whether to let the mother and her family retain custody of the baby, born last week in the city of Jerez de la Frontera.

Micaela Navarro, the Andalusia region's social affairs minister, said that the father of the baby was also a child.

She refused to give further details, such as the sex or health of the baby.

Spanish newspapers said the mother is of Romanian origin. The daily Diario de Jerez quoted medical staff who treated the girl as saying they were told by her mother that giving birth at such a young age was common in their country.
