ray needs a big year in 2010, he was caught in the middle between cookstown and tyrone last year where he couldn't play for his club becos he was involved with tyrone, and he wasn't getting game time for the county either.  In recent months his game has picked up considerably, i believe MH rates him quite well and like the rest of us would love to see a change in form for the county- perhaps his success with the club will spur him on next year.

Id also love to see Barry Mulligan getting a chance for Tyrone, and is no doubt someone that can play to that standard when he puts his mind to it, however i think he has had his run ins with Micky before and think this may harm his chances!

According to a Ryan Pickering interview in today's Gaelic Life "Barry's nickname is Ledley King because he doesn't train, just plays matches". That might well be part of his problem with Mickey - though I agree he is a very good footballer

DCR, could I suggest you remove this as it is offensive although I do get your point.

Please spell out to me in what way you are offended.

Was once present during a Canavan v McGuigan debate in an Ardboe hostlery and a McGuigan disciple's final (and he felt defining) question was "could Peter Canavan play football when he was drunk"?

For sure... after all the denials from the county board a few weeks ago  ::)

Have it from a normally reliable source that there will be an announcement next week. We could all be buying new jerseys for Xmas.

Omagh chasing Paddy Crozier  ;)

Good manager - was shabbily treated by Doire.

Dont know about that. I don't think he has ever won a senior championship as a manager, and he's been in management for a long time. But in fairness he had a Derry team that wasn't good enough and probably still isn't.

Agree totally but PC got the blame. Unfairly in my opinion.
I dont subscribe to the view either that winning a Senior Championship is the only criterion of being successfully regarded as "a good manager".

none, from what I'm told i hear it was blowing out of proportion, doesn't help when people come on here talking about it, when no one knows for sure what really happend

always interesting to hear when some/ any club is involved in something it is always blown out of proportion when they are in the wrong. thats not what cookstown are saying.

Did anything ever happen ardboe for the incident with sean quinn?

Exactly what incident are you referring to?

 "hes a complete knob."

I think that is a rather harsh (and personal) comment but presumably you know the man well.

See Eglish have appointed Paul Mc Grane as their manager for the new year. It will be an interesting battle between himself and Pascal Canavan in intermediate football.
Social clubs must be doing very well to fund these managerial ventures

Didn't know that Eglish had a Social Club but Club Lottos are a big help.

Anyone at the cookstown game? Who played well? Mulgrew and mugsy? Anyone else look the pArt?

Was down at the game my self.  Great match with cookstown not lieing down...For me Barry Mulligan was the star of the show...his distribution is awesome...Similar player to mulgrew.

Was a great Co Minor a few years back but has been out of the limelight since.

Some of the players that trialed today for sure

mark donnelly
martin mc keown
ronan mc nabb
shane mallon
aiden mc elroy
kyle coney
niall mc kenna
peter hughes
gavin teague was there but injured so didnt play
peter harte
ciaran mc ginley
colly harkin
matty donnelly

According to these lads It seemed that Martin Mc Keown was very unlikely to take any part in the county set-up. Anyone from round ardboe know the story here that he did attend county trials?

Despite the fact that Marty McKeown had previously refused invitations to attend Minor and U21 trials he did attend yesterday along with John McConville Gavin Teague and Kyle Coney. I understand that Brian and Tommy McGuigan were there as well. Hear that his team mates were a big influence on his decision to attend. Marty is a very quiet and shy person.  Hear as well that he performed very well - it will be interesting to see how it all develops

Sorry my first post didn't come up.what i was saying was that martin mckeown seems to be the only ardboe player in line for a trial. in my opinion i reckon bella would be a much better addition.

Think there's not a hope in hell of Marty McKeown going to a Tyrone trial.
He didn't go when he was a minor and he wont have changed in the intervening 4 years.

Despite the derogatory digs from a couple of cretins elsewhere on this thread; I don't think many Tyrone folk (outside of Moy) would put Sean Cavanagh ahead of Frank McGuigan (never mind the Indo's 28 places).
