Seriously.Where else in the world would you get people flying "home" to vote when the outcome won't even effect them as they won't be living here anyway!  ::)

This outcome doesn't affect you either, as you won't be living in the South as you say.

Hardly surprising the vote is Yes in an Ireland that is lurching towards moral bankruptcy, where anything goes,GAA players taunt their opponents about deceased relatives etc.

It will not affect me in any way shape or form thankfully,it will never happen in my part of the island.

Did you ever think that one large aspect of taunting opponents might actually be removed by today's vote?

I am saying that a substantial majority of Northern Catholics would vote No in any Gay marriage referendum
I think you'd be very surprised.

Yep.

Despite the idea that Sinn Féin have had a bad election, their percentage and overall vote total hasn't really drastically changed:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinn_F%C3%A9in#Westminister_elections

If Sinn Féin are the largest party in the next election then they will elect the first minister and possibly finance minister. It remains to be seen whether that will or even could be the case, but it certainly has been a lingering possibility for a while. The UUP gains, and even Long's performance in East Belfast, might prove to break up a few of the unionist parties. That in itself would be a huge shot in the arm for northern nationalism.

The consensus seems to be that SF are only doing this to get into government in the south.

Irony being that both the DUP and the Conservatives are looking to form a coalition in Westminster.

Why do you think he did bad defencively?
Do you think he should have saved that goal?

Gave away a bad free in front of the posts which could have been a black card by handling ball on ground (I'm not sure what the ruling would be on this, anyone?). Seems strange to me that it's not a penalty, but whatever. I think he could have been more centrally positioned before the goal also. His frees, which are meant to be his real positive, were absolutely woeful bar one nice strike and him coming up for the last kick of the game was madness considering his form in the game.

A truly shocking game as a spectacle tonight.

Neither county will be within an ass's roar of Sam in September.

3 times in the 1st half there was not a single Tyrone player outside their own 45 line. Absolutely bizarre stuff .   Several other times Cluxton,  O'Carroll and the Tyrone full forward on their own in the Dublin half. Chatting away and swapping water bottle at times.

Would fear for the game in the future after tonight.

Tyrone deserved to win and imho around 4 Dublin players played themselves out of consideration of the championship team they were so bad.

I've seen far worse games as a spectacle if I'm honest. The shooting was so bad that the low score doesn't reflect how much the momentum swung in the course of the game.

You can complain about the system Tyrone played all you want but it largely worked. Only for an awful display by Morgan at both ends it would have been a walkover.

If a team with a decent free taker and good scoring forwards plays against Dublin mimicking that system they will be finished.

Tyrone lack both, sadly.

Deciding the actual format of these debates is more important than the debates themselves usually. If Cameron gets his way he'll have scored a political victory already. I wouldn't read anything into him 'shitting himself' about it, neither Clegg nor Milliband are serious public speakers.

If he was still a county captain The GPA would have been all over it making sure he was sorted out but once you become a humble club player they dont want to know.

This was my initial reaction, but then I don't know if it's true? It's entirely possible that they made submissions on his behalf.

What is true is that if this was an ordinary club player with no intercounty experience playing in a reserve game then they certainly, certainly wouldn't have.

A poll showing the population of the six counties is as divided as the people of Scotland (which we all know they are) would force significant change with the pressure all on unionism to modernise and act on behalf of everyone not just their own tribe
Unionism is a total mess at the moment. They lose so many talented young graduates and are left with the rest. Is there even 1 decent unionist politician ?

Decent Unionist: an oxymoron if ever I heard one.

The only reason McGeady is frustrating is because he should have always been played as an attacking midfielder. It's where he started for Celtic and where most of his best games have been. I've been saying this for years.

He doesn't have the ability to put in a consistently good cross, so it's going to be a circular purgatory watching him play on the wing. As you saw last night, and even against Chelsea, when he gets the ball on the edge of the box he can make space with a bit of flair and technical ability. The commentary on RTÉ was continually stressing the need to put someone behind Robbie Keane -- McGeady is the person who can do that job. It's where O'Neill played him on his debut for Celtic and I hope it's where he will end up.

I see that striker Scepovic has signed for the hoops after turning celtic down yesterday for Sporting Gijon. Yep, that's who you are competing with for signings.

That's one sure fire way to start a good relationship with the fanbase....

Actually it was Getafe, a La Liga team. He signed from Gijon.

Yer right. He's such a nobody it's fairly irrelevant where they got him from or who he turned down.

I pine for the days of marquee signings such as Wayne Biggins, Dion Dublin and Henri Camara.

If you don't know who Getafe are then I don't think you're qualified to be making comments about where Celtic are operating at the minute.
