I didn't mean to start anything by the way. I was out walking the dog one Sunday evening and ended up among the mountains of Pomeroy. There was a large crowd gathering at the football pitch so I dandered in. Dromore were playing Omagh in the championship quarter final, so I decided to stay and watch. I knew Omagh were goosed when I saw who their manager was. IMHO opinion McCusker was far and away the best forward on the pitch that evening. I was just curious as to why he never got a run for Tyrone. He looked better than, for example, the likes of Tommy McGuigan and Martin Penrose.

He has got a run for Tyrone in the past and didn't play too bad any time I seen him for the county but as someone mentioned earlier just seems to love the club scene more than county.  Think work commitments affected him as well - was working at shuttering (not sure if he still does) but getting home after a long day at that and then having to train as much for county ball (and probably even more so nowadays and in future going by the level the Dubs have raised things to) was too much off a commitment for him.  Don't think there would be too many top county players holding jobs doing as tradesmen/labour intensive work nowadays would there?

Twas good to see Mickey Harte showing his priorities for next year by running his eye over the top players in the County yesterday . . .

Oh wait he was @ Old Trafford watching United get spanked!!!
Its hardly that big a deal - I'm sure Mickey Harte watches plenty of club football and I know members of his backroom staff were at the game and if he really wants the county board will have it on DVD so he can watch it as many times as he wants.  He's entitled to a break like anyone else.

Does anyone know does Carter get a Winners Medal?
He collected his medal with the rest of the team yeaterday - well deserved too - best out half in world rugby for some time now.
Missed that as went back to bed after the game. :)  Def well deserved tho - class act and played in Pool stages so was thinking he should get one.  For him personally though probably a bit like Keane with Champions League 1999 - never means as much when your not actually playing.

Anyone's BT playing up this last 24 hours?

I was playing up last night with me.

Incidentally, I got BT Infinity last month. A great job, up to 37mb now :)

Right - no worries - I was going on the above but you are maybe talking about somewhere else - you were giving me hope there for the country folk...lol.

I can't get Broadband in any shape or form, had a BT technician out at the weekend who says we live too far from an exchange. Is there any way around this? I wasn't speaking to the man myself, so didn't get to ask him

Does the online checkers say you can get broadband - I had a hassle with BT for a long time - An engineer came out and said we were too far from exchange - however our neighbour 100m up the road was able to get broadband - so I rang again - took the day off - seems second time we got an engineer who was willing to check a bit more - he went up the road was getting a speed of 2Mbs - but was dropping to 0 at our house.  I then asked him could it be a problem with the line/box coming from Pole to house as this would have been the same one as when house was built 20+ years ago.  He went up checked it/worked at it for 3/4 hours and replaced wires etc and it works fine now - 1.5Mbs or so - no Infinity yet but hopefully they will work on it.  Ziggy did you keep contacting asking about when it would be in greencastle - god if you can get it up there bound to be able get it anywhere  ;D

Another thing is its not consistent across what happens at the highest level.  I was at the game - seen murphys challenge - IMO it was not much different to Diarmuid Connollys in the AI Semi-Final.  Connolly gets his red card over-turned but in this case the same is not applied.

Building nicely for the weekend - see the guy Sherry getting flew out as cover for Best - he'll have to stay in diff hotel, etc from the Squad unless he is made an official member - be nice enough though - get your flights paid out to NZ for you, there in time for a World Cup Semi Final, Tickets to matches and accomodation paid for - its like an RTE competition prize he's won...   :D

IMHO of the teams left, apart from SA and NZ, Wales is the most difficulty opponent.  I'd much rather be playing Eng, Fra, Arg or the Aussies at this stage.  Wales have flown a bit under the radar.  This is no foregone conclusion.

Yes that was a mis-type on my behalf - meant to say in time for a Quarter Final (he is due to land Thur).  Also very worried about Wales - scoring very heavily and probably came out of the hardest group in competition and arguably should have won it (hooks penalty was it wasnt it) but hopefully Ireland can come through a tough test.

Should be a great game this weekend.  Think it will be very close so was wondering what happens in the result of a draw at end of 80 mins?  is in extra time and still draw the penalties kick out?

1. Extra time - following an interval of 5 minutes, extra time of 10 minutes each way (with an interval of 5 minutes) shall be played in full;

2. Sudden death - if the scores are tied at the conclusion of extra time, and following an interval of 5 minutes, then a further extra time of 10 minutes maximum shall be played. During this period the first team to score any points shall be declared the winner (sudden death);

3. Kicking competition - if after this sudden death period no winner can be declared, a kicking competition will be organised between the two teams. The winner of that competition shall be declared the winner of the match.

The kicking competition looks like fun.  http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/home/tournamentrules/

cheers hardy - just looked that up.  Yeah would actually like to see a game go that far for the spectacle - just not the ireland game!!!!

QuoteAnyway - its a HD Ready TV not a HD which I think may be the problem.

Exactly.

OK thanks armaghniac - may see if still have the receipt - be safer paying extra few quid for full HD TV in order to get the RTE picture.

Hi All,

I recently got a new TV (Alba one from Argos) - (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5296077/Trail/searchtext%3EALBA+TV.htm) - live in one of the border counties.

Anyway - its a HD Ready TV not a HD which I think may be the problem.  I do a search for channels connecting the TV to my aerial on the roof.  It fines BBC, etc.  It also finds RTE1 RTE2, etc but I only hear the audio and I get a black screen with video format not supported.  Now as far as I know this is because the digital signal is MPEG4 and my TV can only present MPEG2 - is there anything I can buy to enable me to view RTE channels?  Thanks
