This 'who is better' debate is pointless. It looks like Laois, Offaly and Kildare are of a similar standard. Laois were competitive and a little unlucky v Wexford do perhaps kildare have stepped up (this year anyway). Carlow did similar for a few years in the 00s and have made a solid base from these players. A minor team similar to this years for Laois every year would be a very solid base for a future Laois senior teams.

Fairly certain they clashed last year.

Is there any way that the 3 games on June 30th can be seen by all hurling followers or are some of the games clashing?
Could we have:
1pm Mcdonagh final
2.45pm Leinster Final
4.15pm Munster Final
Or similar

The relegation/promotion set up is not right.
There is a simple solution.
Carlow v Waterford and the loser relegated. If Waterford were relegated and Laois (or another Leinster team) promoted, there is also a simple solution, Galway to Munster.
There is no reason for a Munster team to be shielded from relegation.
There is also no reason why Galway couldn't be moved between the provinces to maintain 5 & 5 in each.

Good idea

Today is a taste of the next 3-4 years as Timmons, Begley, Johno, Lillis, Munnelly, Quigley, Donie and others inevitably step away. They are the remnants of the last really competitive team we've had. They have given it their all but next few years will be tough.

Id agree on the referee but i dont think he influenced the outcome. After goal 3 we lost 4-5 puck outs in a row, our movement was poor and the old Laois failing of playing the scoreboard instead of the ball set in for 10 mins. Wexford tacked on scores. Laois did get going again and finished strong but was this just a 'shur we have nothing to lose now' effort. The composure was needed directly after goal 3 but it didnt happen.

Ruthless with our goal changes. Great to see. Anyone know why Conway for Kerry kept hitting the ball of the ground when running with it?
Because he could? He probably idolised DJ Carey as a chap growing up.

Nice to see all the goals from Laois, no doubt it's Eddie's influence there.

Dont remember DJ doing that very often.

More likely that he was doing it because he had used his play of the ball and wanted to catch it again.
He did seem to do it early so maybe he was resetting his number of catches to zero to maximise how many plays of ball that he could make later in his run.

Disappointing finish to cship. Team has lots of potential senior hurlers but they learned a harsh lesson today. Unforced errors especially on puck outs and missed goal chances really cost us. We were really asking questions of Wexford before the 3rd goal went in and that score gave Wexford a major confidence boost.

With the mcdonagh  final, leinster final and munster final all on the same day I hope they use their head and let all hurling followers be able to see all 3. Why not put games at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Croke park games at 1 and 3 then show munster final on the big screen in croke park at 5?

The national Hurling League is a joke. Why not have the top 8 teams in div1 and work a top 4  2 semi semi final and bottom 4 relegation semis loser goes straight down. Have your next 8 in div2  top and bottom 4 similar to div 1. There is no point in Carlow Laois and Westmeath getting six or seven hammerings next year and trying to take anything from it. Give them games where they have a realistic chance of winning and whoever is good enough to go up will at least be the best of the rest.

8 team divisions would leave 1 fairly decent team adrift from the others strong counties. Groups of 6 are actually fine. The stronger counties in 1b have 2-3 tougher games and guaranteed a q-final. Thats much better than no game v a stronger county.

1a have 5 quality games and if relegated 1b isnt the worst place in the world to be. All the repercussions of the current set-up are better options than what westmeath have been given for getting promoted from 2A i.e 5 absolute trimmings. They have been promoted 2 divisions. The next step for them is beating Laois or Carlow not Tipp, Kk etc.

ITS AN ABSOLUTE FARCE

2-3 years ago Abbeyleix looked like a seriously young and up and coming team.  Where has that gone and why?

We seemed to be comfortable enough in the first half but when Westmeath decided that they'd like to win the game, we let them without much of a battle. Our play from half back to half forward was predictable, slow and ponderable while Kingston at full forward offered very little. Not sure why they didnt just leave O Carroll in there and let Donie drift.
I understand that the overall party line is 'we are building a team' but with the age profile through the spine of todays team Im not sure how true that can be. Booth, Dillon, Begley, Meaney, Johno, Lillis, Munnelly all over 30 with Kingston and Cahillane not far off it either. Where are their replacements going to come from to bring us to a top 12 county?

Is there anywhere that all amalgamations at juvenile level can be viewed?
