Think Cushendall were on their own last year, at U-12 anyway

Quote from: paddyjohn on June 04, 2024, 02:36:51 PMClubs that MR2 mentioned there will struggle for numbers in the near future if they already aren't. Houses in Cushendall, Waterfoot and Cushendun simply can't be bought by first time buyers and the lack of housing means people will be looking elsewhere. Sadly it is the way it is. Even renting is impossible due to holiday homes etc.

Cushendall and Glenariffe amalgamated at U-12 & U-14 this year, gives you an idea of numbers at that age.

And Oisins and Glenravel Un16 & minor. Ballymena and Ahoghill also have amalgated.

I thought Cushendall was joined with All Saints at underage?

Saw a post on the saffron Gael about a new rig out for them.

Surely they can't join with Glenariffe?

They are at U12 & U14, why could they not ? Neither would be able to field if they didn't, it's about keeping kids involved and playing

Quote from: Caesar on June 04, 2024, 11:25:25 AMIf I am correct in saying that Corrigan Park is owned by the county as opposed to St Johns, then the club should not be able to dictate in cases like this if they want to be 'stubborn'

Corrigan has been owned by the Johnnies for as long as I can remember.

It was just a coincidence that Antrims chairman was a St Johns man when they got the money to make the improvements to the ground.

Soem of you need to accept Corbyn is gone and isn't coming back ffs

It looked like Waterford should have had a 65 at the very start, when Quilligan knocked it wide. Fine margins. Some of the umpiring was very poor today in both games

Galway usually lay waste to teams weaker than them, the opposite of Wexford really. Hard to make a case for Antrim getting within 10 points

Soem beating for Antrim today in a game that some had as a 50/50 game, Antrim just can't do it outside Corrigan

As a rule I wouldn't let anyone from countries like Somalia in, one of the least developed countries in the world and fair to say they have fairly different views to us. Oh and seem to like to carry knives.

Are you far right for thinking this fella shouldn't have been admitted to Ireland ?

"The court heard Mohamed claimed to be from Somalia, which he had fled in 2017. He was in direct provision in Italy before being refused asylum in Germany, Italy and France. He travelled to Holland, where he got a false Swedish passport, which he destroyed while travelling to Ireland.

He applied for asylum in Ireland on his arrival in February 2022 and was placed in hotel accommodation in Dublin, where he lived until his arrest. His asylum application has not been decided."

Quote from: tiempo on May 02, 2024, 09:51:18 AMThe level of self-agrandising by Tommy Nibs leads me to think he's gone full parody and is only saying 'most powerful yet' on a weekly basis as an in-joke/piss take. Does grate at times, trying to sound nuanced with phrases like 'the modern GAA calendar'

Like all platforms, they flit from the GAA being in existential crisis to a life affirming Championship on a weekly basis depending on the most recent high profile game. If Down-Armagh had been the only game last weekend there would no doubt have been an inquest on various rules, coaching and the provincial system - but because Tyrone-Donegal was a bit more watchable and they got an interview with Ryan McHugh then all is right with the world ... until next week.

Was it ever confirmed what happened Thomas Kane, was he cannibalised by Nibs in the end?

I have to say Mark Sidebottom has aged like a fine wine, the silver fox, one for the mums and anyone with a wandering eye

From what I have heard I wouldn't be too sure on that

Hopefully with the win on Saturday the Antrim support will improve a bit for the other home games.

I totally get the expense involved, distance for some to travel etc but the support this year has been pitiful compared to even two years ago.

I wouldn't say we outnumbered the Wexford support significantly on Saturday.
