It's hard for me to look past Mickey Linden too. He was one of the best players to ever play the game imo. To shine for as long as he did, winning everything that he did, with both club and county. If you look back at what he has won, its some haul. Started his Down career when he was 17, and ended it when he was 35( ???). Amazing. And such a gentleman too.
Think he was even older than that but could be wrong. Just going back to original post its very rare u hear of someone having a sweet "Right" boot.  :)

In 2008 - Harte/Gormley/Jordan were in some form  as the summer progressed.

1999 - Murphy/Geraghty/Curtis were unstoppable. Replace Curtis with Giles and it was a dream FF line.
giles in corner forward??

Ciaran McManus had some great battles with Seamus 'Shaq' O'Neill was worth the admission fee alone. A great loyal midfield warrior! unfortunately a dying breed of the game.

In fairness O'Neill was not in his class nor did he have anything near the length of servitude to his county.
On his day Shaq held his own v the best midfielders, i agree with your last bit but who wouldn't.
IMO O'Neill was a brute of a young lad when he broke through on the Ross team, people thought that he would hold the middle at county level for years to come. He never really developed his game and I only ever remember him playing in short bursts and then disappearing. A huge loss to Ross as they were struggling at MF during the years when he was expected to be at his prime.
What is the story there? booze, woman etc or injuries? he couldnt be any more than 28 yet.
