Hi Aristo;
I'm puzzeled as to why you would post a fictitious Profit & Loss With made up figures and incorrect information, for a event that you have no part in, an event that hasn't even taken place, "mind you, i do like your pretend profit figure, it would'nt be a bad days work".

Where does the money go indeed......

Does all the money go to DYI and this elusive charity or are there other interested parties?

Hi sludden;
As i have stated a number times, we are raising funds primarily for Dundalk Young Irelands, we will confirm another charity before the event date, if not it will be for Dundalk Young Ireland only.

I'd be pretty confident this would be in clear breach of the amateur ethos and rules of the GAA. Of course you can't dictate what players get up to on their own time, but I suspect that might be part of the reason why it's not taking place on a GAA ground.

If I was a player looking to take part in this, I'd want to be pretty clear that the event has it's own insurance that's up to par - your standard playing insurance certainly wouldn't cover you here.

Hi lone shark;
The Corona Cic Saor Championships is not a GAA sport and is not affiliated with or to the GAA in any way and neither is the venue in which it takes place, therefore the Cic Saor Championships or any of its participants are not in breach of any "rules", as the GAA have absolutely no jurisdiction in relation to the event. Please remember this competition is not restricted "solely" to Gaelic football players, you can enter irrespective of you sporting background  eg (Soccer or rugby etc).

All relevant insurance will be in place.

"Who is organising this competition".  Where does the "Money" go? Has your "Keyboard been on the mushrooms?"

Hi Hardy;
Cic Saor is fund raising for the Dundalk Young Irelands GFC; The Dundalk Young Irelands are regarded as one of the oldest clubs  in existence. They played in the "first ever" All Ireland Final, unfortunately they find themselves in a precarious financial position and are at risk of closure.

I would urge everyone to support the Corona Cic Saor 2013 even by buying just one ticket for €6 to help ensure the future of this historically important GAA Club.

All information in relation to the Corona Cic Saor is clearly stated on our website www.cicsaor.ie ...if i can help you with anything further please ask.

kind regards

where did Brian Farrell come? i would've thought he was better at taking frees than Joe.

Brian was eliminated in round four the speed round , it was a pleasure to watch a player of his calibre competing

History was made at 5.15pm last Saturday evening in St Marys college Dundalk where Brian White the Cooley Kickams and Louth midfielder bested a 45 man strong, field of contestants which included , club players, inter county players, multiple all Ireland winners and all stars, to win the inaugural all Ireland Cic Saor championships.
Brian was a worthy winner and statistically was the most consistent free taker only missing two frees all day.
We were delighted to have a very strong and illustrious field of contestants and Brian had to be at the very top of his game to take the title,
After three rounds we were down to 16 contestants, round 4 was the speed round, only four would progress to the final shootout where €2000 was waiting for the winner. (Louth's) Jim Mc Eneaney was the fastest qualifier followed Joe Sheridan (Meath), Bryan Sheehan (Kerry) and Brian white (Louth). Stephen Connolly from Kildare finished in 5th.  Stephen was very unlucky not to make the final four after he finished on the same time as Brian white but lost out in the rerun.
Each of the finalists started with three lives, but as White hadn't lost a life through the previous rounds he would have the advantage of four lives in the final.
Bryan Sheehan exited in 4th followed by Jim Mc Eneaney in 3rd. at this stage Sheridan had only one life remaining; this gave White a massive advantage with three lives. He certainly used this advantage wisely by bringing Joe to the bottom corner flag for his final free, after a fine attempt with the outside of his right foot to bend the ball over the bar, it was declared wide by the umpires Joe was eliminated in 2nd and Brian White became the first ever all Ireland Cic Saor Champion winning €2000 and the inaugural All Ireland Cic Saor trophy.

We would like to congratulate Brian on his victory and look forward to him defending his title in 2013.

You will be able to view highlights of this event on our website www.cicsaor.ie in the coming week's I'll keep you posted

Ps; To all those that helped and supported this event I will never be able to thank you enough Brian, Mike, Gary, Danny and Ailbhe from D4 EVENTS, all the helpers from the Dundalk Young Irelands, all the local business and contestants you were just incredible.

Not to mention a certain Oisin McConville, its people like Oisin that "make" the GAA not the other way around.....the Cic Saor would not have been the success it was without his help!!!!!!
