;D ;) :D good one !
I hope you are no insinuating that there are less GAA matches in Croker to facilitate soccer and rugby matches. We were told by the visionaries that this would not happen so go back to your cave or the rear of thew woods that you came from. :D
I thought all the big GAA matches were now being held in Parnell Park, to rest Croke Park for the "foreign games" !!!!!
Well maybe if the stadium wasnt only full for Dublin and Ireland games the GAA might considered opening it ;D
The GAA could have opened Croke Park up yesterday for Derry vs Kerry with free admission, and it still would have been three-quarters empty.
Whos cares wobbler it it was the final of the national league, you know the second highest prize in Gaelic football. It should therefore have been held at Headquarters and not Parnell.
A Triple header would have generated a full house - Dublin and Westmeath = Kerry and Derry and Fermanagh and Wexford

Why should it if people don't care? i would rather be in a near full PP than a totally empty croker!

Ah Seanie, you've gone all 'modern' and 'tolerant' on us now, and I thought we could rely on you. :P
The classes are going well. I'll soon be allowed into a public house (you know those places where they have taps that beer comes out of) and if that goes well in a few months, when I learn how to use those cutlery thingys I might even get to go out for a meal. I know - its amazing!
Why do we need the stadium to be full to allow a player the honour of playing in Croke Park.
Are we that materialistic that we would deny a player his traditional right to live his dream of playing in Croker, because we wont make enough money out of it?

No but 8,000 in 82,500 capacity stadium is rather lifeless

It seemed rather lifeless when Meath played Cork last year and their was 25,000 + at that
Why would there only be 8000 at Croker for properly marketed league finals, a triple header as suggested?
Think it wouldn't be a bad idea to give home advantage to the team that finishes top of the division for the final, where possible. Some reward for their early efforts. Thought Parnell was ideal yesterday though, good atmosphere for both games.

At the Junior and Intermediate Club Finals last year at Croke Park, there wouldn't have been much more than 10,000 at it. Believe me, the atmosphere was unbelieveable. Couldn't have been much different if there was the full crowd at it.
All National Finals should be played in Croke Park - even U16c Hurling - even if it had to be a Friday evening!!!
It's our (the GAA) National Stadium and surely it should be the dream of every player of whatever standard or ability to play the final of his National competition in Croke Park.
By all means rent it to Soccer/rugby while the taxpayer funds their new Lansdowne but GAA players and Supporters must come first.
And while i'm at it - when will the powers that be in HQ realise that we are not all effin millionaires- I see talk about €30 for the NFL Final while it was €15 for Div 2 League games.
Come on lads - give the plain people of Ireland a chance to go to games - after all the GAA was originally set up so the peasants and workers of Ireland could partake in Sport which until then was controlled by and restricted to rich Unionist "gentlemen"
QuoteAll National Finals should be played in Croke Park -
its a poor day for the GAA when the league final is not played in croker. Ok, its not going to be a sell out but HQ is down grading the league when the final is not played there.
