I know the season has just literally finished but I'm already looking forward to the draw
When will it be?
Thur 13 Oct.
I'm so excited. Not.
I can never understand why this is so early every year.
I wonder who we'll be getting first up next year. ;)
Get your money on Down to be away in the first/prelim round. The only sure thing in GAA.

I'd believe in a conspiracy before I'd believe in a curse!
Aristo. I have it on good authority the draw is:
Tyrone v Down
Fermanagh v Cavan
Monaghan v Antrim
Derry v Donegal (v Armagh)

They did that the last 2 or 3 years anyway.
Ludicrous system.
Our bucks ended up playing 5 games in a 7 team knock out competition which had 7 games in it.
We want the Dubs.
In NAVAN.
PT is worth 15 points to us.
It will start with Antrim playing Fermanagh in Enniskillen and end with Dublin playing Mayo in September. Not much to hold the interest between times.
Love to draw the Dubs in the first round and this time have it in Portlaoise not Kilkenny

McGrath Cup draw in Munster , anyone any idea when ?
Usually in November I think. Towards the End of November.
Munster v connaught and leinster v ulster semi final next year?
Munster v CONNACHT.

There are 5 teams once the NY and London games are played. That means one QF must be played. I think the year we won Connacht we beat NY and then Roscommon in the semi.
Last Summer Ros played NY in a Prelim; Laythrum in a Qtr Final, Shligo in a Semi Final and the Galway.
Ros/Keit and Rhus/London were Qtr Finals.
Galway and Sligo got byes to the Semis.
Madness!

Not fair. For a level playing field everybody should play the Dubs in Croke Park.
Seeding hmmm. For over 100 years both Kerry and Dublin have been in the easier half of the draw seeding with a small s.

Are Tipp and Kerry not seeded because they got to the Munster Final?
We are seeded in that we get byes to the semi but its an open draw there
Don't like going over old ground but I'm this case I will. It's farcical that Ulster teams are dreading possible away trips to Ballybofey, Omagh or Clones which could be your opening 3 games!
Meanwhile Kerry could field a reserve team and reach the last 12.
So as one side of the country prepare for their opening games in May the others don't really start til July.
That's my moan over for this morning!

This shite again....why not leinster or connaught? Tipp and clare both beat galway and roscommon handy in games that mattered this year, leinster isnt exactly the most competitive of provinces either yet munster is the one that always gets singled out

What are your proposals to change this?
Abolish the Ulster slugfest?
I'm sure there are flaws in this but how about the Munster n connacht teams playing an extra round before the next stage. For example Munster champions play a game before the all Ireland quarters while beaten finalists have 2 games to get to the quarters. At least the champions should have 3 games before the quarters.
There are enough teams in Leinster so difficult to add in more games. The obvious one is making the dubs play outside croker.
Open draw. Full stop.
I think we will draw Monaghan.
Hopefully there will be a bit more challenge for Donegal, Tyrone and Monaghan next year, there were a few trimmings in the Championship last year which is uncommon in Ulster. The likes of Derry and Armagh can be very competitive in Ulster if they get their houses in order, I saw a list of the players not committing for Derry last year, I know the apathy to the county team in Derry is generally bad but they can't afford to be losing guys like SL McGoldrick, Danny Heavron, McFaul, McAntamney, Holly and Emmett Bradley - is it Barton? Cavan and Fermanagh will probably be capable of one big shock but they'll likely need to beat two of Monaghan/Tyrone/Donegal which is hard to see.
Down and Antrim barely warrant a mention, without meaning to be disrespectful.
My predicted draw
Prelim
Down v Armagh
QF
Tyrone v Monaghan
Cavan v Antrim
Fermanagh v Derry
Donegal v Down/Armagh
Muster will be......
Cork v Waterford
Limerick v Clare
semis
Kerry v Tipp
Cork v Clare
Won't matter who we draw. It'll be a short summer. Down away I prefer though. I like it there.
Galway and Leitrim would be away if Mayo get them?

Whatever side Mayo are on is the lopsided one. The rest of Connacht are simply not competent championship sides.
Roscommon appear to have a Kerryesque run to the All Ireland final.
Galway were competent enough to win a shiny cupeen the year
Leinster football draw is always last in this. F***ing always.
Handy enough draw for Derry. We've either Donegal or Antrim in the semi
Are derry at home v tyrone?
If the n Donegal get through will tyrone have home advantage?
f**king Celtic Park again. Beating those oak leaf hoors is getting boring at this stage.

Derry home v Tyrone, semi finals are neutral venues.
First preliminary round for Monaghan since 2003 and a local derby too. Get over that and there's probably a tougher local derby against Cavan. But on the other hand we're on the opposite side to Tyrone and Donegal. So on balance you'd be happy enough I suppose, still a long road to win Ulster though.

*to be gift wrapped one by their gracious neighbours.
Mayo still steps ahead of ourselves or Galway. Sligo and Leitrim farther back still.
Dublin even manage to get a handy draw in Leinster. Not that they need the help.
Derry at home, semi final neutral
So Roscommon are in the All Ireland last 12 by virtue of beating Leitrim or London.
Galway and Mayo due to meet again before the final, Roscommon have certainly been the main beneficiary from the draw in recent years not that they've taken advantage of it.

The difference is Kerry would streamroll through any soft draw while the behind the scene issues with Roscommon will make them self destruct and lose to Leitrim or London.

No. we'll scramble over Leitrim then lose in McHale and be too despondent to muster an effort in a winnable R4 quailifer.

Ya wha? Parson might as well have been a cardboard cutout and the most interesting thing Heslin said was that Westmeath have already lost next year's Leinster semi-final, which was both maddening and depressing to hear. Rest of Leinster can't even keep up appearances in public at this stage.
Hickey from Limerick was the only one who showed a bit of character at all.
