Title: Kildare v Louth QR2

Not looking forward to this. The wise money should be on Louth.

I'd still expect Kildare to dust themselves down and get to the quarters....If they survive this one.

Kildare should be just good enough to get through this but it is hard to know how many beatings Kildare can continue to take and still want to come back. They must be mentally battered at this stage having been touted as the big challengers to Dublin over the last 5 years yet failing constantly. McGeeney has done a decent job and will have them as well prepared as any team in the country but he his game tactics and strategy has let him down. That coupled with the fact that they lack the necessary quality in certain areas to make the jump from nearly men to winners.

One of us will be put out of our misery, the winner only delaying the inevitable.

Louth have more natural carbon-based footballers.

Will this be held in Newbridge?

Aidan O'Rourke will know the Kildare players inside out and that could give Louth an edge.

Newbridge probably won't be able to hold the crowd, move it to Drogheda.

Jeez you louth boys are hard pleased. Surely Louth's only hitch year was a loss to wexford? Stuffing laois in portlaois and dealing with antrim more comfortably than ulster finalists monaghan isn't a bad start.

Leave our Armagh lads alone...

I really feel for Kildare supporters today. I've had many Monday's like this over many years watching the Dubs. The day after is always worse than the match day itself – the adrenalin has stopped flowing and you're just left with the terrible disappointment.

The last time I felt like that was after the "startled earwigs" quarter final against Kerry (1-24 to 1-7) in 2009. That day I saw lads throwing their colours on the Hill and leaving at half time. I thought Dublin would never come back from that, yet they were All Ireland Champions only two years later.

Keep the faith Kildare. (But get a new manager – ideally a Kildare man)

If H&S have capped the capacity at 7,500 it should sell out regardless.

Has the makings of a good match.AOR has louth in great shape, fitness levels way up and playing to a system that suits.Past reputations mean nothing either with.My only worry is midfield, bar paddy Keenan we have no other natural midfielders and if he struggles like in the Wexford game we could be in trouble

Newbridge will be full for a qualifier either way. Always a sickener for emigrants when these games aren't televised.

While there are several games I'm not putting money on this weekend, if I was picking just one to avoid this would be it for sure. Really hard to get a feel on this one as there are so many what-ifs.

That's a scary full-forward line. I'd expect a very high-scoring game on Saturday and my major worry is that Louth's greater accuracy from frees by White might swing it.

No change in the six backs shows how light we are in that department with Lyons and Doyle injured. Morgan O'Flaherty might consider himself unlucky not to be included ahead of Bolton.

It's a hard one to call. Louth love playing Kildare and they will have no fear of travelling to Newbridge. Kildare will also be fragile enough after such a comprehensive defeat less than two weeks ago. I'm looking forward more to the minor final on Sunday than this to be honest.

Have things got that bad that Bolton isn't assured of his place? On his day the only HB that can equal or better Karl Lacey.

On his day, yeah, but hasn't had 'his day' all year. Can't remember him doing anything special since the Limerick qualifier last year. Not sure what's up with him. Has given us so much that he probably deserves to keep his place though. Hopefully get a big one out of him. Lads we're seriously vulnerable in this match.

I don't think he would be starting if Lyons and/or Doyle were fit. For a long established regular, he has been poor for a good while now. To be fair the same could be said about Flynn, Foley and Callaghan against Dublin.

These older guys who have been at it a long time have given a lot to the Kildare cause but it looked the last day, and to a lesser extent against Offaly, that the well might be beginning to run dry. I hope I'm wrong and that there's a kick left in them because no team can rely solely on promising youngsters.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we'll definitely lose, just saying that we're very vulnerable and there's a similar look to both teams as there was in 2010. But if I had to bet on the outcome I'd say Kildare by 1-3pts

I think the hammerings dished out to the likes of Kildare and Galway must be hard to manage out of the minds of the players. Kildare should be well able for Louth but Louth didn't get taken to the cleaners by the Dubs.

Don't know how make that out? Kildare won by 7 points and O'Connor should have had a hat-trick. Louth were economical but both sides and some shocking wides from frees and there was lots errors on both teams. Ciaran Byrne is a tasty footballer.

Kildare won't do anything but a run will bring on the young lads.

We were 2 points up and missed a simple free, Kildare were there for the taking at that stage, but fair play to them they scored about 1-5 without reply to close out the game. Both sides were guilty of some shocking free taking, but we gave away too many cheap frees, Dessie Finnegan being particularly guilty of fouling when there was no real need.

This game encapsulated pretty much everything about Kildare football - the sublime was mixed in equal measure with the ridiculous. Hopefully they will gain a bit of confidence from the way they finished the game. To outscore Louth by 1-10 to 2 points in the final quarter was encouraging.

I still think the draw will have to be kind for Kildare to get through to the last eight again. At times it looks like there's no shape or structure to the team whatsoever and a better team than Louth would have put that game beyond Kildare. I'm delighted that Tomás O'Connor got the crucial goal. He has his limitations as a forward but nobody could ever question his commitment. There's no such thing as a lost cause when he's around.
