Title: Bye bye Ricky Nixon...

QuoteThe video, which is the subject of a Victoria Police investigation, shows a man, alleged to be Nixon, in underpants on the bed of the girl at the centre of the St Kilda naked pictures scandal.

The video threatens to end the 47-year-old's career.

Nixon painted himself as a fatherly figure on Melbourne radio on Monday -- trying to help a troubled young girl

Looks like he got his excuse from the Neil Prendeville book of excuses.

God the AFL is like a soap opera.
The stuff the players get up to (and often get away with) is shocking.
The wider scandal here (of which Nixon is just one small part) involving this girl, nude pictures of St Kilda players, pregancies etc. is crazy.

Again you have to ask what does the GAA brass think the association can gain from links with this sleazy circus.

Itll be interesting to see who will provide access to pitches this time.  If they let this crowd on them, surely it sends out the message to clubs  that are entitled to use GAA pitches as they see fit, regardless of GAA guidelines.

Industry sources say rival sports managers are bracing for players managed by Nixon to start shopping around in the wake of the scandal.
The mother of Nixon-managed Essendon player David Zaharakis said they were waiting until "everything comes out" before making a decision on whether to ditch Nixon.
Peter Dal Santo, dad of St Kilda player Nick, said he was sure his son would make "the right decision" about his management.
Richmond player Jack Riewoldt's mother Leslie said this week she was "cognisant" of the situation but didn't want to comment further.

Is it just me or is having your Ma or Da talking for you a bit odd?

Del Santo and Nixon are the only real eejits, the rest of the photographs she swiped off Del Santos laptop and were part of some sort of nonsense of a team holiday - she than released the pictures to the media claiming there was a huge scoop to come about all the St. Kilda team however once it became apparent that the girl is as mad in the head as they come it all sort of fizzled out

Nixon stands down

VETERAN player agent Ricky Nixon has stood down from his role as head of Flying Start, the AFL player agency and promoter, citing health reasons and a need to seek treatment for a "substance problem".

In a statement released tonight by email, Nixon said that after 20 years of player management, he was taking an "indefinite break", and that he would seek "help, counselling and appropriate treatment".

The statement noted that he would "go to a rehabilitation clinic to seek treatment for a substance problem that has impacted on my life and my decision-making, particularly over the last eight weeks".

He stated that the break would assist him "to deal with a number of personal health issues. It is important for both my own health and wellbeing and that of my family to do so immediately."

Nixon has been at the centre of a storm after allegations made that he had engaged in a sexual liaison with the girl at the centre of a storm involving St Kilda players. The girl appeared on Sixty Minutes on Sunday night, and made several allegations against Nixon.

These allegations have made his role as a player agent problematic, and have led to an ongoing enquiry by the AFL Players' Association, under the guidance of leading barrister David Galbally, QC.

Nixon stated that in regard to matters under consideration by the AFLPA, "I stand by my original statement in relation to this matter".

Nixon returned from overseas on Sunday night, and made his announcement late on Monday night after consultations with family, friends, and colleagues.

He asked for privacy as he sought "clinical treatment" and apologised to "everyone for the impact caused by these recent events."

His statement follows:

"After 20 years involvement in player management, I am now taking an indefinite break to deal with a number of personal health issues.

"It is important for both my own health and wellbeing and that of my family to do so immediately.

"I have returned to Australia having spent the last two weeks overseas, where I had the opportunity to seek help for my personal issues.

"With the understanding and support of family and close friends, I have decided that I will go to a rehabilitation clinic to seek treatment for a substance problem that has impacted on my life and my decision-making, particularly over the last eight weeks.

"Given recent events and with the encouragement of friends, I believe it is the right time for me to seek help, counselling and appropriate treatment.

"While overseas, I have been in contact with the AFLPA and have stated that I will cooperate fully with the investigation currently being undertaken by David Galbally QC. I stand by my original statement in relation to this matter.

"I am so lucky to have the support of my employees and the players that I manage and while I know this time has not been easy for them I think it is important for both staff and players at Flying Start that I immediately relinquish all responsibilities and activities a player manager would normally undertake.

"I have full faith in the staff at Flying Start to operate as usual without my involvement.

"As someone who has been involved in the football industry for more than 30 years I understand the interest in this story but I do ask for the privacy needed to be able to undertake clinical treatment without the intrusion of the media.

"I also ask that the media leaves my family, friends, staff and players alone. I know these events have caused them enough distress.

"I would like to thank people for the enormous amount of support I have had both here and overseas.

"This is a significant challenge and one that I am committed to get through and coming out a better person. I would like to sincerely apologise to everyone for the impact caused by these recent events."

I know a lad in Melbourne who played a round of golf with one of the journalists from the Heald Sun, says he was told by this journo that he had seen a picture of one of St. Kildas main players getting head of a rookie player, apparently part of an initiation ceremony. The lad that told me this is 100% trustworthy but he wouldn't put his house on whether or not the journalist was winding him up. I'd have me doubts also but sure it's a good story.

Tommy Walsh is a rookie.

Sounds like a News of the World story. A few of my mates are ex AFL players (none from St Kilda) - plenty of stories about team chops and spit roastings but none about the teabags on the chin. Sounds like the journo is confusing St Kilda with an outlaw motorcycle gang or a prison movie.

There's only two gay Irishmen, one is called Olly and the other is not called Tommy.I'd imagine it's rubbish if only because of some of the tweets from that nutbag Kim Duthie suggest she's the one that started the whispers

Were they in Sydney last week?

I don't know.

From the Hoganstand.com, gone but not repentant:

Nixon hit with two-year agent ban
Australian Rules agent Ricky Nixon
24 March 2011

Ricky Nixon, the controversial agent who has led the recruitment of talented young GAA stars to Australia, has been banned for two years by the AFL's player representative body.

Nixon resigned as a registered agent earlier this month and admitted substance abuse as the St Kilda internet picture scandal came to a head.

The brash Aussie had admitted having an inappropriate relationship with the 17-year-old girl who caused a furore by posting pictures of naked St Kilda players on her Facebook page before Christmas.

Despite his resignation, the AFL Players Association pledged to continue its formal investigation into Nixon's affairs and the representative body has now handed down a two-year agent accreditation ban.

AFLPA board chairman Ian Prendergast said, "Ricky Nixon has been an AFL player agent for over 15 years. He has been an innovator in the industry, and he has contributed much to the promotion of player rights and interests throughout this time.

"However, the board has found today that Ricky has in recent times made serious errors of judgment, which warrant a serious response."

In response, Nixon is reported to have hit back at what he alleges was the "flawed process" of the investigation, and made "no apology and no admissions".

The 47-year-old made several high-profile trips to Ireland in recent years and has been seen as the driving force behind the recruitment of top young GAA players such as Tommy Walsh by Aussie Rules clubs.

Nixon can appeal the AFLPA's decision to the AFL Grievance Tribunal within 14 days, while the possibility remains that he will also initiate legal proceedings to challenge the ruling.

I have to wonder if some ordinary Joe was found to have been in a hotel room, half naked with a teenage girl and cocaine would he not be facing a jail term

The worrying thing is that this dodgy character was wandering around this country checking out underage players.

Definitely not.  You just have to look at the extremely light suspended sentences for some paedoes for abuse and possession of images to know that jail time for being caught half naked with a 17 year old will not be harshly punished

would it not depend on the age of consent in the country in question and whether or not there was physical proof that the substance was cocaine and also the quantity of cocaine present.
