Here's me thinking it was to allow county players to play starred games, therefore clubs would not demand that their county players would have to play for them in every game. And every year we hear the same tripe about the team at the top should win the league, that's well and dandy as long as it was stipulated at the beginning of the league, but not on a whim because you think the team at the top should win the league.

For us to be placed second in the league considering we went out at the start of June, 6 players went to the states, two players long term injured, two county men not available in July has been  minor miracle.

That's exactly why the league is worked with a top 4 playoff. It also keeps plenty of teams interested. There are still 6 teams with a chance of making the top 4, which is great to see and keeps the league competitive.

Its hard to know, but I cant imagine KC would want to give up the chance to defend their league title. They played a fairly strong team against Coalisland a week before the semi. Its hard to beat competitive games for sharpness.

Killyclogher will be hoping they don't pick up any injuries in the league game this weekend. Its a game they need to win to make the semi-finals. Hopefully Dromore go easy on the tackles seeing as Killyclogher play their near neighbours Trillick in the final!!!

Not surprised at all that Trillick won. They have probably the best forward line in Tyrone. What did surprise me was that they kept a potent Coalisland attack to 5 points.

Ricey was very subdued last night. Wasn't able to dictate the game they way he normally does. Maybe he doesn't like having a minder!!!!

Carrickmore is a great pitch for atmosphere and while the changing rooms are not perfect, they are certainly much better than Pomeroy. The pitch is now in great nick after being resurfaced a couple of years ago and the adjacent training pitch is great for teams to warm-up on.

Anyway, lets hope the lights work on Friday night at Healy Park. Looking forward to a great game and hopefully Killyclogher can pull off a big shock.

Rumour doing the rounds that the Dromore and Killyclogher game could be refixed for Sunday due to the problems with the floodlights.
