Why do we need a rake of 'good' games?

If having a loads of 'good' games is the goal, then go the whole hog and have fully tiered, leagued championships, where evenly matched teams line out against each other every week of the summer.

The current situation is a shite halfway house that satisfies no one. The standard GAA solution to a GAA problem.

Roscommon vs Cork will be the first senior intercounty football championship match in the 130 odd years of the GAA where neither team has any prospect of advancement in the competition.

Is the above statement correct?

If so, then this alone is sufficient cause to do away with the Super 8 shitshow.

It was brutal. Brolly in particular is getting worse. Impossible for anyone on that show to attempt to dissect anything coherently with his persistent need to waffle vaguely about whatever shite happens to come into his head.

Poor Cork. Dubs looked fairly mortal until the professional conditioning kicked in around the 60 minute mark.

Tyrone won that in second gear. Rossies hopeless in the second half. Looked miles off the conditioning needed to compete at the top level.

Wasn't expecting that. Maybe it's a case of the bigger the challenge the better we are.

No fear now of any team, including Dublin.

I thought Mayo were better last weekend. Galway were pretty clueless for most of the game this evening.

Dreadful attempt from Galway in those last 15 mins. Allowed themselves get sucked into scuffles all over the show and made too many rash stupid tackles. Killed any momentum they had. Mayo there for the taking, but very cynical and very smart finishing out the game.

Lead flatters Mayo, who haven't been that great. Few big blunders by the Galway keeper and #2 gifted Mayo a goal and a couple of points.

Very good. Clearly a poster who knows his stuff.

Barry Cassidy doesn't seem to have much of a grasp of cards.

What have Cavan been at for the last couple of weeks? They look completely wrecked. Tyrone players kicking over points with no Cavan men within 10 yards of them. Miles off the pace for a team with aspirations of playing at the business end of the championship.
