This tier 2 & 3 minor championship is some BS....  minors have played what 9-10 games already and now going into a b competition after being comprehensively beaten by Derry in the Ulster championship
Seriously...  club minor season is a shams, away behind, U16s has been delayed by a few months already ...

Do Tyrone need to be in a tier2 competition?

What the GAA have done at national level to the Minor and U20 grades is a joke. The round robins and tiers have completely diluted the significance of the competitions. Added to this is the fact they added this format against the request of counties and the Ulster council. No speeches or interviews further adds to the idea that the GAA are trying to take the competitiveness out of the Minor grade.
Tyrone minors have played I believe 9 games this season and lost 4 of them and deservedly exited the Ulster Championship at the Semi Final stage against Derry. Should be season over and plenty to mull on for the team and players going forward into Under 20 age group. But instead of being finally able to rejoin up with their clubs and play the remaining league games, they are off to play a Tier B competition no one wants to be in that could potentially run for another 3 weeks.
At club level the minor season has been shambolic. CCC telling clubs players are available to clubs and then the county management telling players to not play and then some players playing and others not playing. Ridiculous.
If the GAA are going to insist on continuing down this route of Round Robin and tiers then Club Minor season should not start until late June and conclude prior to the Senior Club Championships starting.

What I would like to see at club level would be -
A modified calendar along the lines of:

U12 - April - June
U14 - July - October (finish before school football begins)
U16 - March - June (starting after the conclusion of school football which is generally St Patrick's Day and the traditional club start anyway - County Minors available to all clubs as was supposed to be the case this year but enforced by CCC - problem would be lessened as less players affected)
U18 - Late June - September (beginning after County Minor season and exams and concluded prior to Senior championships)
Reserve (with anyone Over 16 eligible - giving those lads football through Spring) - April - August
Senior (Over 17 only eligible) - May - October

Why should club fixtures be based around school fixtures?
These players are club players first off.

It is either u12 and u16 finish end of June or u14 and u18 finish end of June as was the plan this year.

Is it not a bit mad U12's stop playing in June, tbe start of the summer and have no action for nearly 4 months of the year?

If U12 finish in June, they join up with U14 panel in July.
Just like when U16 finishes they join up with either U14 or Minor depending on their age.

This would make far too much sense for our CCC to go along with it.

Does anyone know when the grade A minor championship will be played out. It looks like it's only at the semi final stages.

No fixtures scheduled so far. Was the Trillick-Dromore Q-final game ever replayed? Imagine it was held back with Trillick's Championship run

Grade 2 championship finally getting their semi finals on Saturday and this Tuesday.

At this rate, the leagues will still be running in December.

CCC needs to seriously look at clubs playing down
we could have a number of situations this year where a number of big clubs have walked Grade 2 competitions
has already happened at u16 level

Surely the TCB have to put in place sanctions on clubs crying that their main minors are focusing on Senior when it comes to knockout stages.

Without McElholm & Donaghy, Lough would still be competitive with young MCCullagh & Co, but with those two back, they'll walk to a Double.

Will be severely unfair on the other clubs in the grade, given Lough's strong 2nd place finish in grade 1 last year

Eugene be back he cannot be lost a man of his talent and enthusaism for the cause.

While I don't agree with the pricing of the Tyrone TV setup, losing a man of Eugene's experience would not be a positive.

While I have felt Eugene has put his foot in it with some of his statements over the years, I think he has led the Tyrone Comms team well in the last 5 years. I've no doubt he will remain in Garvaghey in some capacity, be it as VC or in various sub committees.

Good to see some youth in the form of Rory Cox as PRO. Very enthusiastic and has been a great support to his club. Hopefully he can continue to grow the Tyrone GAA brand.

On a separate note, with Gortin's motion of separating the roles of VC & CCC Chair being carried, I wonder who will be put forward at the first 2023 board meeting for CCC Chair?

I don't agree, he was looking directly into the lights, the linesman was right behind it and cud see perfectly. Either way that's football, Dromore done themselves proud and will be back. Honestly can't see past Errigal for the title now but you never know. Game was played on a good spirit and both teams came to play football which was refreshing, thought the game was a very high standard given the conditions. Thoughts on the junior championship? Derrytresk seem to have hit form at the right time but Aghaloo still might be too much for them. Stewartstown v Strabane is a toss up and should be a great game as there was little between them in the league. A Derryresk v Stewartsown final could be interesting.
