there has to be a culture change, Ill discipline still a problem both on and off the pitch. Would there be anybody locally that would be respected enough but also ruthless enough to deal with these problems

Jesus that was awful, the slide continues and it only confirms that we are division 4 side. i thought if we got an early goal we might give them a rattle. we did and against the wind and it didn't make a difference. kildare just streamrolled us. As mentioned earlier the plan looked on containment in the first half with the sweeper system but kildare put paid to that with the movement of their forwards especially flynn and i think we tried three players at least. we also then have to constantly move players around to fire fight due to the lack of the pace in the team. flynn did a job on both mcmahon and booth and to see him soloing away from o connor and strong was a reflection on the problems we had.

certainly the kickout strategy killed us, we were so slow moving the ball up the field when we went short but with the forwards playing deep there was no release option bar expecting o loughlin to barrell up the middle. kildare had him well schooled and just bottled him up. anything kicked long was goggled up as our middle eight was destroyed and weren't physical enough on the breaking ball. our extra defender also allowed them to double up on donie and he was frustrated figure by the end.  the forward play was awful at times, there a few who have no interest in going for a hard ball though at times some of the foot passing was dismal. he scored our first point from play in the 49 minute which says a lot. you would have to wonder how bad david conway and meaney are in training if they had to wait till the end to get on looking at some of whats on the field. many commented at the game looked at how unfit we were compared to kildare. certainly players like begley and mcmahon who i would rate as always been fit were blowing in the first half. i think with the age profile of the team especially with the senior players no matter who is coaching them will make them any faster.

kildare won't be bad this year. they started without their two first choice corner forwards and had the luxury of not even bringing on paddy brophy. they were very fit and well coached, they will need to score goals but they look to have the pace and size to stay with a lot of the big teams

the result reflects what has been going on in this county. its been some seven days for results. every team is now out of the provincial championships and its the first week in june. as discussed our systems or lack of them are not producing a player capable to playing competitively at the top level.

No 11 and 12 very good for Dublin but overall a disappointing game with Dublin always in control

Any game involving Donegal is horrible to watch. Like watching a bad game of basketball. How anyone could watch that s***e every game is beyond me. Donegal refused to kick the ball even with a strong breeze behind them in the 1st half. Not a great Dublin team but at least they try to play football.

Whatever about senior level, but to see such defensive set ups at underage is a joke. Someone in Donegal co board needs to grow a pair and put a stop to such negative tactics at underage.

Dublin played with a lot of men behind the ball as well,

Couldn't say it better myself. The league doesn't lie, that is the standard we are at. I was at the Antrim game and both teams were the worst I have seen in the league. Even with a stronger hand in the last few seasons we still were not strong enough for those divisions. The delusion that we are stronger than we are is half the problem. There are good things being done with the centre of excellence but there is nothing coming out the schools, minor or u21 level. The club championship as also dipped in the last few years. The players are not there at present and next year is going to be equally as tough with age profile of the team. There really needs to be a massive re think of what we are at. I also think that hurling needs to be looked at, the same problems are there.

The Longford game has now huge importance.

The full forward line has to start moving, staying too static and allowing them to hold their shape

Is Garry Walsh still involved? we will need everyone if Donie is gone for a few months.
Team for Saturday? Brody, Strong, Booth, Kelly, Farrell, Lillis, McMahon, Meaney, OLoughlin, Donoher, Conway, Finn. Munnelly, O Carroll, P Kingston.

Lillie was way off the pace last week. Darren strong played centre forward for much of the game after conway went off

That's Kerry even without the main players from school team that played in the all Ireland semi final

You cannt blame the manager for what O'Connor did. Both himself and his marker were booked, before play started again he kept niggling and threw a dig. This was right in front of the linesman. The fact that everybody was telling him beforehand to walk away made it even worst. Serious case of red mist but it cost us badly

Just back from the match, really poor quality game, spoiled by the wind. Both teams were equally as poor. Antrim didn't make as many mistakes as us. Firstly anything that could go wrong did, Kingston and attride went off early. Attride had to be carried off. Then o Connor's unforgivable sending off. We were really on the back foot. We conceded an awful goal when four backs ball watched and then messed up a high ball, leading to a soft goal. Conway who had been good was black carded and we had no threat up front. We had numerous chances but poor shooting, bad tackling and poor decisions cost us.

McMahon was the best of the backs and carried a lot of ball. The rest of the backs handled a lot of ball but didn't do their primary job marking. John was good and was fouled consistently. With no out ball in the forwards, he often went lateral and handled it to long. Conway in the forwards ploughed a lone furrow. Evan came on and started great but faded badly. He was stretching his leg just before he kicked an awful free wide. The league doesn't lie, that is our standard. On the way home their was a piece about Offaly football on the radio, you could put us instead of them. We don't have the players or the money to attract a top manager. You can blame creedon for some things but not For what Some of the players did today.

Its the first round of the league lads with what was basically half a B team with all the injuries, in the space of one week opinion has went from promotion and all ireland quarter final to relegation to Division 4, once again laois supporters show themselves up to be one of the most fickle and demanding crowds in the land

I am not fickle or demanding, I would like the team to be competitive, fit and have a game plan. i don't think that's much to ask for. This was worst than Clare in Ennis last year.2-16 at home to Louth, who got well beaten by dublins third string last week to me is not acceptable. They could and should have scored more.

They are in serious bother unlaoised, a lot of the young players are way off the pace and the senior players are not going to get better. The problems at underage for the past few years have finally come to roost. We are in free all.

Tonight to many round pegs in square holes even allowing for the injuries. So slow in everything we did, just going lateral. No pace in the team. No doubt Louth targetted us and we're just far sharper. Very disappointed with the senior players.

was at the game, they are a solid if unspectacular team. looked fit as evidence by a few of them having played three games in the week. far better team than tipp and let in a sloppy goal to improve the result for tipp. first time to see them and was relying on the team on twitter which i think was just a bit off.

goalie not bad, backs solid enough, nerney strong as full back but i thought knowles was the pick. might not be a corner back but very good on the ball. a bit of a choice on the half back line with collins coming on but they probably should have swopped o sullivan and eoin buggie to see what he was like at centre back. two big athletic guys at midfield who did well against the tipp senior jack kennedy. three workers on the half forward line but we might be lacking a bit here, especially for a few scores. full forward line was good, byrne is not bad and Daly before he went out centre forward is a good target man at this age group.might lack a bit of pace but shows well for the ball. moore was by far the stand out player on the field. still light but he shows for a huge amount of ball and very accurate, he kicked a lot of scores.

might be missing a few like kelly who i think is injured, who might not be a bad half forward. galway this weekend would be a step up.

probably a sign of what's to come, they broke every kickout, they had a lot of big men in that area. there have to be a better strategy than lumping it into the middle going forward.
