United's squad has only performed for about 2 months this season, loads of injuries and players such as DeGea totally under performing. Any decent improvement next season should get them up to about 74 -76 points IMO.

5 season of Poch with Spurs now. First two seasons finished with 64 and 70 points 3rd season was overachieving one and they have regressed in the league the last two seasons with less points and 20 plus points off the champions. I don't see much improvement with Spurs next season they will probably draw more games and not lose 13 matches again but will likely require marquee signing or two to get close to a title challenge.

United need to buy well and the type of players the need to buy are not the galactico type signing (bar Van Persie I can't think of one of those that has worked) but young hungry players on their way to the top. That's what Liverpool have been outstanding at for quite a while. The huge concern is that the scouting system is not up to identifying these targets. Hopefully I will be proved wrong on that - to be fair there are only so many players and surely United would be aware of them.

Think some on here need to cool their jets at times. Things are bad but some of the comments I read about Valencia above are just bullshit. He was a good player in good teams and contributed quite well as a wide player and then a full back to wuccessful teams winning things. To suggest otherwise betrays little knowledge of the game. Don't let the twilight of a players career colour how you perceive the whole career.

Alli has played 25 league games, Kane 28 and Son 31.  Alli tends to be a one trick pony in that if he doesn't get the goals through arriving late into the box, he doesn't do anything.  Kane hasn't looked the same since he came back from injury last March.  Pochettino seems like a very good manager but he also gets a lot of credit for the players brought to Spurs but alot of that was down to Paul Mitchell who brought in Alli, Alderweireld and Trippier.  Add in the fact that Kane and Vertonghen were already then its obvious that the perception of him being some kind of transfer genius are not entirely true.

In the same way Moyes was appointed, because I think United's 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices didn't want the job, it's the same with Ole. Appointing an inexperienced man on the back of a 10 game runs madness. But makes me think, Poch and others were likely approached and didn't want it. No more favourable fixtures than already relegated Huddersfield and Cardiff.  That unbeaten run included  wins against Arsenal,Chelsea (away) in the FA Cup, Leicester,Spurs,Newcastle (away) and took two valuable points off Liverpool in the league.
