The Wedger

Fitzy didn't get the ball far enough in front of him to run onto it and drive it downwards.
He had to hesitate slightly and got underneath it.
Hard luck to Wexford.

QuoteWho's idea was it to send the penalty over the bar? Did the SG have any idea?

He intended to go for a goal

AZOffaly

Definitely went for a goal. Why bother taking a point? The normal free taker could have tapped over a point, especially with the puckout to come. I think Fitzy just got the lift wrong, and had to reach at it a bit.

Had Fitzy bagged that goal, the other Fitzy would have been in some shape !

There was still 10 minutes left on the clock and that would only have put Wexford a point ahead.... hard to tell if they would or wouldn't have won

AZOffaly

Was there that long left Eddie? Jaysus I could have sworn it was later than that... (Not doubting you by the way, just amazed).

I think it was around 62 or so minutes when I looked at my watch!!!
