Quote from: Wildweasel74 on May 13, 2024, 08:44:31 PMBoth marks should have been went for, both men have the distance, so hitting it hard enough to go dead,  instead of a Donegal counter attack.
Disagree tbh, Jarly Og probably hasn't kicked 10 shots with his feet his whole Armagh career, Soupys was the wrong side.
Then why did they call the mark?

Quote from: AustinPowers on May 12, 2024, 07:32:09 PMA few things after  watching all that:

Football as a spectacle is  pathetic.

Penalties need to go

I think McGeeney has taken Armagh as far as he  can. I expect change  there
1. It is so bad, but sadly if you're under 30 it's all you know.  That said, the shooting today was very good.
2. Jarlath rightly highlights that we have a unique sport, and he's right, so get rid of penalties.
3. I'll be amazed now if Armagh retain McGeeney.  An amazing footballer in his day, but his team are so scarred now mentally that they just can't do it.  Jarly Og declining the free perfectly illustrated the problem.

Quote from: Look-Up! on May 02, 2024, 09:42:31 AMWhat's people's take on Chelsea and Pochettino? Gets a very easy ride from the press compared to Utd, although if they win tonight they'll only be 3 points behind them.

With that squad though, surely they should be contenders. If they have everyone fit next year, a good manager should be at least competing for CL, and if City regress, a title. If they can't, you'd imagine huge financial implications are coming down the line.
They definitely worked their socks off in that last game against Villa.

Quote from: Snapchap on May 01, 2024, 01:37:51 PMThe interviews are top class, and Niblock is a fine interviewer, but he does need to tone it down on the superlatives.

Claims that a podcast is "the most powerful one yet" do tend to become a bit meaningless when the same claim is made on an almost weekly basis, and when, as I say, each episode seems to have it's own dedicated section for talking about how "phenominal the response has been to last weeks episode".
I'm ok until he says "Tyroo-ann", and then I switch it off!

Quote from: maldini on April 30, 2024, 04:40:14 PMWhy do they do the draw for this before the provincial finals?
It's a good question.  Some teams might now be thinking a loss wouldn't be the end of the world, so it takes the edge off things.

A very important programme, capturing very important testimonies.  Nothing but admiration for the family. I do believe that in time a lot more will be learned, but with evidence not gathered or destroyed, and some actors taking their dirty secrets to the grave, getting the whole truth could be difficult.

Not the most important issue by any means, but hearing how the two RUC men conducted themselves at the house really stuck in my throat, asking the wee girl why she was crying. Says it all.

Is it not an issue that Cavan goalie is in black, same as the ref?

Quote from: armaghniac on April 17, 2024, 02:05:17 PMI haven't listened to this yet, but no GAA person should ever entertain any comparison with the OO. Compare with the IRFU, FAI, IFA, basketball etc by all means, but the OO is not a valid comparison.
He's after saying the most popular place for work experience for St Pauls students is with the psni. All for trying to be inclusive Jarlath but come on ffs.

I suppose that it is more interesting that work experience in Camlough Car & Tractor Parts!
He's willing to go on air and debate, and he can hold his own.  Presidents from south of border don't fully understand the ins and outs of what happened in the six counties so it's a one chance in a decade period to see a President explain the GAA in the north from their lived experience.  The Neanderthals won't listen, thousands probably thought he sounded fair, and many of us in the GAA will have our own personal gripes that we won't agree with him on about how we are run!  At the end of the day he's as well qualified as anyone to represent us.

The whole Sterling fiasco makes this even worse after him getting the peno and missing.
Dele Ali nailed it.  If there was a minute left and they had to score it, they wouldn't have been fighting over the ball.

Sixty thousand empty seats in Croke Park for a Dublin Meath championship match.  What a sad state of affairs.

Couldn't really fault the lads that took the field today.  Plenty of effort and chances were created, but the composure wasn't there to finish them.
If they stay committed and a few come back from injury then another good run in the Tailteann and a big day in Croke Park is still there.
Both teams are a world away from the top level.

Still can't work out why we don't have an All Ireland Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship.  Works a treat at club level where every trophy is hard fought and cherished. It would deliver lots more meaningful, evenly contested and attractive games.
Everything else adds to the issue: ticket prices; state of grounds; tv coverage; other sports etc.
The quality of the product is an issue with the coaches, not the rules.
And how many people even knew Monaghan were playing Cavan on Sunday - it just crept up.
